All About the New Sci Fi Movie Transcendence with Johnny Depp and Its Great Dramatization of both Positive and Negative Evolutionary Transhumanism Issues
I strongly recommend that you see the new SciFi movie with Johnny Depp called Transcendence. It does a powerful job of dramatizing some of the key positive and negative issues of Evolutionary Transhuminism. It also brings to the public's attention the ideas of a post human future worth lots of intense dialog.

How is the Consciousness 2.0 Skill Set a Major Upgrade and Different From the Consciousness 1.0 Skill Set?
There is a new upgrade for the existing Consciousness 1.0 movement.
It is is a powerful and important upgrade.
The traditional Consciousness 1.0 Movement began in the 1960s in the Western world. It encompassed both Eastern and Western spiritual and meditative traditions that focused on the following:
a.) self awareness
b) consciousness awareness of one's own self awareness (the concurrent internal awareness of their own thoughts and feelings so that one could better manage them and any actions they might provoke,) and
c.) awareness of the general environment and surroundings. (This would include some awareness of the expressed or signaled thoughts and feelings of others.)
These three areas of awareness skills added together created various degrees of a Consciousness Version 1.0 person. The Consciousness 2.0 (conscious evolution,) person includes all of the above conscious awareness skills, but it also transcends them with important skill and knowledge upgrades for the world we live in today.
To the above consciousness and awareness skills of the Consciousness 1.0 person --- Consciousness 2.0 ads:
a.) awareness of the directionality, progressive processes and "goals" of evolution as a system up to and including at universe scale,
b.) awareness of the meta-principles of evolution as a system up to and including at universe scale, and
c.) an intentional personal commitment to both align with and consciously and intentionally forward progressive universe evolution and its values and "goals" for themselves, humanity, the planet and the universe by using the core guiding meta-principles of progressive evolution.
The conscious evolution of Consciousness 2.0 is truly a major leap forward in both conscious awareness and in consciously and intentionally evolving everything!

The Handful Summary of Key Things You Should Know About The UN's 2014 New Report on the Climate Crisis
UN IPCC Working Group III Fifth Assessment Report: Mitigation of Climate Change 2014
Here are the five top things to know about the report’s recommendations:
1) The world must phase-out of fossil fuels and shift to clean energy investments. While global emissions are still growing, some modern and innovative economies have already beaten the trend - moving from dirty fossil fuels to renewable energies, proving it can be done
2) Substantial shifts in annual investment flows between 2010 and 2029 are required, i.e. cuts in fossil fuel investments of USD 30 billion per year, while more than doubling the investment in renewables. Delaying mitigation action now implies higher costs of action later, says the IPCC, while the co-benefits of actions taken now can outweigh their costs.
3) Urban areas are expected to triple by 2030. This is directly relevant to climate change as urban areas account for roughly 70% of global energy use and global energy-related CO2 emissions. Since much of this urban infrastructure will be built in the next 20 years, there is massive potential for smart infrastructure choices, combined with low energy codes in new buildings, retrofits of the existing housing stock and more widespread use of already existing technologies and efficiencies.
4) Forests, agriculture, and land use could become a net CO2 sink by the end of the century. They currently account for about quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions, and could become a net CO2 sink due to successful afforestation efforts, reduced deforestation, and better agricultural practices.
5) Energy efficiency offers massive potential and multiple benefits, as well as the need for improved demand side management. Of course it's vital to produce energy in a more sustainable way, but saving energy in the first place and avoiding unnecessary waste is even better.
And the report includes a surprisingly hopeful note:
The IPCC is clear that we can still keep global warming below the danger-threshold of 2 degrees C compared to pre-industrial levels, if we make bold and quick decisions towards deeper and faster cuts in emissions. Even keeping warming to 1.5 degrees C, as many developing nations have been urging, is not ruled out.
At the UN summit in New York City this September, world leaders must commit to deeper cuts in emissions and faster shifts in energy finance from dirty to clean - in order to lay the groundwork for the strong global climate treaty that is due in Paris in 2015.
The faith community can make a difference. Did you know religious institutions among the world’s largest landholders? Faith communities own 7-8% of the habitable land surface of the planet, including 5% of commercially run forests worldwide.
If we use the power of our convictions and our love and concern for Creation and our children’s future, we can play a pivotal role in generating the global will to shift to sustainable energy. By stewarding our land, making our facilities as efficient as possible, and teaching everyone that comes through our doors about the responsibility to respond to this crisis, we can reach a huge number of individuals world-wide – perhaps enough for a tipping point.

The Program: A One-on-One Method for Freeing Oneself of Biases and Learning to Think in a Dialectic Meta-Systemic Manner
In this blog and on this website we have many times forwarded the tremendous success benefits of learning how to become a dialectical meta-systemic thinker. We have also talked about the importance of de-constructing your personal biases and living in the present in a neutral aware state.
Now there is a one-on-one course that will help you do both of these things. It's called The Program and it is the brainchild of John Stewart (the author of Evolution's Arrow and The Evolutionary Manifesto,) and his partner Victoria Wilding.
This is the only course we know of that contains both elements of dialectical meta-systemic thinking as well as de-constructing your personal biases and living in the present in a neutral aware state. (At this time former Harvard and Frankfurt School Professor Otto Laske’s Interdevelopmental Institute is the only other place we know of teaching dialectical meta-systemic thinking. In fact, Otto is the key educator in this area.)
Recently a student completed The Program and wrote about the many powerful benefits that they experienced. Rather then trying to go over all of them here I will redirect you to the original article in the Integral Review.
If you have the opportunity to take the program, I strongly recommend that you do so. It will change your life in beneficial ways beyond anything that can be easily imagined. I can and will say this with no hesitation. This is because, learning dialectical meta-systemic thinking and coupling that with being in the present in a neutral, unbiased state has personally change my life for the good in a plethora of ways.
I also will not sugarcoat the difficulty of achieving the goals of The Program on a continual basis. But, if you have the right stuff and persist to achieve the two main skills of The Program, you will never regret any cost, time or effort involved in successfully completing it.
There are currently very few places where you can develop these very specialized, high level dialectical meta-systemic thinking and analysis skills. To our mutual peril they are grossly absent in most NGOs, major corporations or national intelligence agencies. If today's NGO's corporations or intelligence agencies had enough trained staff who could successfully execute the two above skills, they would have a tremendous effectiveness, market or survival advantage over any current challenge, competitor corporation or nation who did not...

Evolution's Arrow: Understanding the Critical Importance of the Progressive Directionality of Evolution
A major evolutionary transition is beginning to unfold on earth. Individuals are emerging who are choosing to dedicate their lives to consciously advancing the evolutionary process. They see that their lives are an important part of the great evolutionary process that has produced the universe and the life within it.
