What exactly does it actually take to live fully in harmony with
the universe and its unstoppable evolutionary flow? Humanity has
been studying this question for millennia and the result has been
a world full of religions and philosophies. Paradoxically, until
recent scientific discoveries about the nature of the universe
the more complete answer to this question was not knowable. To
live in harmony with the universe we have to discover if there
are universal and rational standards for social ethics and
morality based not upon individual beliefs or opinions, religion,
ethnicity or nationality, but upon the independently testable,
factual observations of the multi-disciplinary sciences that
study the universe and its evolution as a whole system? And if
so, are they so truly powerful that to the degree any individual
or organization does not align with them that individual or
organization to that same degree will not survive, be sustainable
or thrive?
We, as citizens of the universe stand at
a critical moment in the history of the universe and of this
planet. This is a time when humanity must choose its future. As
this planet becomes increasingly inter-dependent, the future at
once holds great peril and great promise. To move forward we must
recognize that in the midst of a magnificent diversity of
cultures and life forms we are one human, planetary and universe
family with a common destiny. We must join together to bring
forth a sustainable planetary society founded on the
testable principles of the universe's
progressive evolution and respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, universal human responsibilities and a culture of
peace. Towards this end, it is imperative that we, the people of
the universe and this planet Earth, declare our responsibility to
one another, to the greater universe community of life, and to
the future generations who will inhabit both the planet and

Is there a direction imbedded in the very fabric of
evolution? Are we moving toward something, or is reality as
we know it just an infinite process of trial and error, with no
