The prime directive of evolution might well be survive and reproduce, but the Golden Rule of Evolution most applicable to human culture for determining what is good and what is bad is something quite different.
There can be no spiritual wisdom or spiritual truth that is not both in alignment and congruent with the progressive evolution of life in the physical universe. For it not to be so, it would have to be against life and to be against life would be against that Ultimate Reality, which originated life.
