The prime directive of evolution might well be survive and reproduce, but the Golden Rule of Evolution most applicable to human culture for determining what is good and what is bad is something quite different.
Progressive evolution does not just tell us how we got to where we are now and how we came into physical being. It tells us where we are going and how to get there in rational ways that can be commonly tested, held and used.
