Two leading Evolutionaries Michael Dowd and Connie Barlow just released a video update & summary of newest data on escalating global warming leading to the climate cliff of irreversible climate destabilization. The new video link (just below,) also contains hard facts from the recently published reports of very conservative organizations like the World bank and the Natural Resource Council.
Universe Day is an annual day of educational, social and celebratory events all over the planet. Universe Day begins each December 31 at noon and ends at noon January 1 st. This year the message of Universe Day 2013 focuses on:
1.) "increasing awareness of the "climate cliff" --- catastrophic and irreversible climate destabilization caused by human-caused carbon pollution of our atmosphere by fossil fuels."
2.) dramatically reducing human-caused carbon emissions in the atmosphere. Reducing human-caused planetary carbon emissions is truly Job One for Humanity! (For more information on reducing human-caused carbon in the atmosphere, click here.)
A worldview is a centering meta-paradigm of reality, a unifying cultural consciousness that both underlies and almost always invisibly conditions and controls an individual’s (or a culture's,) way of knowing, seeing, valuing and most importantly, acting in the world. A new worldview always emerges and evolves naturally when the previous worldview no longer adequately solves the new critical problems that are arising for the individual and the society. Each new worldview expansion provides transcending more effective solutions that simply cannot be seen from within the constraints of the previous worldview. Each new worldveiw encompasses and includes the best of the previous worldviews. Each new worldview eventually causes a great re-alignment of how individuals and cultures now view their world and this eventually re-aligns how they act in it.
Our future depends upon adapting or cultures to the realities of modern life at an unprecedented spatial and temporal scale. The idea that we can do this without a detailed knowledge of genetic and cultural pollution will appear laughable in retrospect --- if we are lucky enough to persist in our current maladaptive cultures for so long. Perhaps someday we will confidently steer ourselves into the future like Capt. Kirk and the starship Enterprise. Until then, we will be like the Wizard of Oz in his hot air balloon, who doesn't know how it works.
