Knowledge of the disasters of climate destabilization are failing to motivate society to evolve rapidly enough. This article demonstrates how facing the adaptive challenge of climate destabilization may be humanity's greatest evolutionary teacher to date, producing both unforeseen benefits as well as consequences.

Part of the reality discussed in this article is that it's not the disasters of climate destabilization that are beneficial, but the innovation, cooperation, and community building that facing them will produce...

Like it or not, recognize it or not, the global warming climate destabilization adaptive challenge that we all face also holds the promise of also becoming the greatest transformational adventure of human history. Here is just a part of the story on the benefits of why the current climate destabilization that we are experiencing is both the greatest adaptive challenge and transformational adventure in human history:

In addition to the Five Great Species Extinction Events of the last 3.2 billion years of biological pre-human history, the human species itself has at least once previously almost gone extinct. It occurred about 72,000 years ago. This incident has been called the Great Evolutionary Bottleneck.

Here is what happened. A super-volcano called Toba erupted and blocked the sun for about 6 years. It also covered the earth with 6 inches of ash.

Because of this super-volcanic eruption, global temperature was dramatically lowered. This super-volcano related temperature lowering was also on top of the pre-existing temperature lowering effects of an already existing Ice Age.

Under the cold and darkened skies, humanity as a whole was reduced down to as little as 1,000 breeding pairs. (Some research suggests even less super-volcano eruption survivors made it. Maybe as few as 200 mating pairs were all that survived of humanity.)

This super-volcano eruption has been called an evolutionary bottleneck because the total early global human population went from an estimated 18-26,000 individuals to 1,000 or less individual pairs with reproductive capabilities. That is about a 90% reduction in total global population. If some other catastrophe had also occurred at the same time, humanity itself might not have made it through this first evolutionary bottleneck and would have gone extinct.

Up until now, the Toba supervolcano incident has been the greatest single challenge to the survival of the whole of the human species. Unfortunately, today we are facing a new and far greater adaptive challenge. It is different, yet in some ways similar to what we call the Second Great Evolutionary Bottleneck.

Our Second Great Evolutionary Bottleneck contains a different climate threat from the colder temperatures of the first Great Evolutionary Bottleneck. Our Second Great Evolutionary Bottleneck is being brought about because of the increasing greenhouse gas effect of the toxic carbon and methane atmospheric pollution and their consequent average global temperature warming effects.

This increasing warming is causing a massive global destabilization of our climate from its previously existing fairly stable temperature, climate range, and dynamic equilibrium to some new unknown temperature, climate range, and dynamic equilibrium that may not be suitable for the survival of anything close to the 7 billion plus people alive today. The final unknown new temperature, climate range, and new dynamic equilibrium caused by our current climate destabilization may not even be suitable for preserving ANY the human species over time.

This means that together we are now facing the world’s greatest adaptive challenge in the form of the Second Great Evolutionary Bottleneck for humanity and the Sixth Great Extinction event for all life on earth. This truly is the greatest transformational adventure in history!

More is at stake for the survival and well being of all of humanity and all of Earth’s life than ever before. If we are going to come through this adventure at all, more has to be done by more people cooperating at levels never achieved before in less time than on any other project organized in human history. Could anything be a more exciting and positive adaptive challenge and transformational adventure?

Once you begin to see human-caused global warming in terms of the greatest adaptive challenge and transformational evolutionary adventure in human history, you are already beginning to sense just one of its surprising benefits.  When humanity is fully challenged, it also rises in response to do its absolute best!

The climate future is uncertain and full of both unpredictable negative and positive wildcards. This means that we must explore all of the possible new climate re-stabilization technologies as well as new energy generation technologies that could be positive wild cards for our climate future.

There could be a point where we will have to consider any existing or new technology. Even if that new technology seems improbable or far fetched.  Among many possibilities, we will need to advance new carbon pollution emission control devices and strategies. We will always need to keep our minds open if we are to resolve climate destabilization.

We may even have to use distasteful or disruptive temporary practical stopgap and stepping-stone measures on the way to re-stabilizing the climate to save humanity. If it means saving the human race long enough to implement better solutions later on, we may even have to use the still not-yet-operational fourth generation nuclear breeder reactors or other less carbon-polluting energy sources like natural gas for basic energy generation needs.

We may have to accept an expanded temporary use of natural gas and nuclear energy as an emergency interim solution until we can deploy enough new green energy generation globally. Natural gas produces half the carbon of coal when burned, and the fourth generation nuclear breeder reactors, when perfected, will burn the spent existing nuclear waste now being stored and will turn it into a byproduct with a radioactive life of just 300 years instead of current 10,000 years of existing nuclear waste.

After climate destabilization becomes possible to resolve and we have crossed critical climate tipping points, new technological wildcards may be humanity's last opportunity for eventual climate recovery.

Hundreds of millions of jobs will be created worldwide as we react to the carbon and methane atmospheric pollution that has already been added to the climate system since the beginning of the Second Industrial Revolution of the 1890's. For example, by 2100 sea levels may rise 1 1/2 to 2 meters (4-7 feet). This rise could possibly be a lot more if we cross any major climate tipping point.

This Third Industrial Revolution will replace the preceding Second Industrial Revolution and the toxic and polluting fossil fuel energy that has powered it.

Going to green energy generation as fast as possible also has an important additional resilience building effect for surviving the increasing effects of escalating climate destabilization. Solar and wind energy generation is often decentralized, which allows for it to be put on homes and businesses. When climate catastrophes occur, power will go back up much faster because of this local decentralization located right at the places that the power is needed and used.

In the past we have cooperated successfully on critical climate issues. We have successfully created enforceable international laws and agreements regarding the pollution of the atmosphere caused by the chemical called Freon. Freon used to be used in refrigeration and air conditioners. When it leaked out, it rapidly destroyed and caused holes the ozone layer of the atmosphere.

We acted quickly in this case because of the escalating danger of a “hole in the ozone” that would have eventually harmed almost everyone on earth. If we did this before with Freon’s air pollution, we can still do it again with carbon and methane air pollution!

The solution to reversing current climate destabilization depends upon radical and immediate global changes in how we produce energy, how we pollute the atmosphere, and how we cooperate collectively as humans. These needed climate re-stabilization changes are far larger and are needed far faster than any change of this scale that has ever before been achieved in history. Climate destabilization will require more of Earth's inhabitants to work together at one time than has ever occurred in all of human history.

The magnificent good news side benefit to trying to cooperatively survive climate destabilization is that human global cooperation itself will undoubtedly have to rise to a new and higher evolutionary level that has never seen before!

To survive the threat of climate destabilization issues which transcend national interests and national borders, we will need to (and literally be forced to) create a new and greater international cooperative union of nations that will form a rudimentary, enforcement-empowered, global government well beyond any existing international cooperative structures. Generally, in the northern hemisphere, it will be 15- 30 years before most individuals will experience significantly worse climate destabilization catastrophes. During that time you will still experience increasingly frequent, smaller scale climate-related droughts, wildfires, freak storms, and other unusual weather crises.

But the good news here is that --- you have about 15-30 years of cushion to build a climate destabilization survival reserve and to increase your community’s emergency recovery resilience. You also have more time to enjoy as much of the non-weather crisis influenced aspects of life as is possible.

If you live in the far northern hemisphere or the far southern hemisphere you could be a bit more lucky. Where Are We Now in the Challenge to Re-stabilize Our Climate.

If you read the introductory page to Job One in the Where Are We Now section to review of the hard statistics on global warming, you will clearly see we are in deep crisis.  (If you have not already read the Where Are We Now section, click here.)

There is much more than just climate statistics creating this escalating crisis. There are also huge structural challenges to resolving the global warming and climate destabilization issue. Just a few of those big structural issues are:

1.) We don't know the actual tipping points for many subsystems of the global climate. Our current risk assessments and time projections of temperature increases are based on incomplete information that does not include this mission-critical climate tipping point data. Our current climate information on tipping points is not adequate to prevent us misplanning and miscalculating ourselves into climate catastrophe. (Job One clearly discloses this hidden problem in both accurate risk analysis and for remedial action prioritization.)

2.) Our current climate re-stabilization strategies are way behind the curve. They are often “feel good” measures that probably will slower or lessen the pain, but will not prevent the worst of climate destabilization from ravaging the planet. In fact, we are so far behind the necessary global warming remediation curve that it would be foolish to not tell people to immediately begin re-planning their futures and to start preparing to adapt to the huge unhappy changes that are coming.

3.) We don't have the time to educate everyone and implement the massive infrastructure changes to move from a fossil fuel powered global society to a green and sustainably powered global society. What would take 50 years to 100 years normally, we now need to do in the next 10 to 20 years. We need some form of well-informed, effective international government to literally order and enforce the necessary massive changes on a global basis.

4.) We really don't have the global structural mechanisms in place to create verifiable and enforceable International law on global warming and climate destabilization. The Catch-22 here is that without verifiable and enforceable international law on global warming we will not be able to resolve the problem in time to prevent catastrophic, irreversible or extinction level climate destabilization.

As you can see, we face adaptive challenges as species that are unprecedented. We truly face the greatest transformational, evolutionary adventure in human history...

Climate destabilization affects our biggest global challenges by making them into even bigger challenges and harder to solve.

Those key global challenges are:

Global Challenge 1, Resource Depletion: Fueled by overpopulation and climate destabilization, we have now (or soon will have), increasing food shortages. Ocean fish stocks are suffering catastrophic losses. We will also be soon facing energy shortages caused by the early attainment of peak oil. Depleting our resources also act to increase global poverty, which helps cause the next global challenge.

Global Challenge 2, Global Economic Instability: the previous challenge also acts in concert to increase global poverty, economic instability, economic inequality (conflicts between rich and poor), and to produce rising national deficits. National deficits are rising in many countries in unsustainable ways. These deficits are happening to try to stay up with the escalating costs of all of the growing global challenges. Even worse, these ballooning national deficits are moving us ever closer toward an eventual bursting global financial bubble.

Global Challenge 3, Political Instability in Countries with Low Management Capabilities and Low Resource Resilience: The above global challenges plus increased political instability act in concert to further increase the likelihood of more wars, terrorism, and political injustice.

Global Challenge 4, Global Pandemic: As the above resilience-reducing global challenges (including climate destabilization get worse, this also increases the probability of a global health pandemic. (This is due to existing or new diseases being poorly treated, the mobility and migration of world populations, or the overall deterioration of global health services as the stew of all of the global challenges listed above comes to a global warming amplified boil.)

Why Climate Destabilization Should Now be Considered to be the Single Most Dangerous Challenge to Our Immediate Future!

Climate destabilization is the most dangerous challenge because it is the largest single keystone multiplier of the other huge problems caused by the global challenges above! It is the most immediate and probable meta-trigger for a chain reaction of simultaneous whipsawing e catastrophes and system collapses involving the other challenges above.

Because of the combined meta-triggering, multiplying, and whipsawing effects of climate destabilization on humanity's other critical global challenges, climate destabilization is also the most likely current catalytic source for what could very well turn out to be the greatest planetary destruction, loss of human life, and tragedy in all of human history!

Take a moment to reflect on these climate and related ideas and then ask yourself the following question:

No matter what level of bad climate news may happen, the good news is that a destabilized global climate will eventually seek to establish a new dynamic equilibrium of temperature and other climate qualities. The only problem is that this new fairly-stable climate dynamic equilibrium may not be a climate that favors the ongoing survival of the human species.

The Local, National, and International Security Implications of the Job One for Humanity Plan

Global warming and its consequent climate destabilization may have started out as an environmental issue 35 years ago, but global warming due to human-caused fossil fuel carbon pollution of the atmosphere has now gone far beyond just an environmental issue. It is now the single most destructive, imminent, and real threat to our national and international security, global financial prosperity, and personal safety. It truly bears repeating. On the prosperity side, it is not about creating the same kind of ecologically-blind prosperity that results in cycles of boom and busts that grow ever more severe and closer together in high-low oscillation time lags (which is a system's science classic warning signal of a system equilibrium and stability collapse). It is about a new kind of sustainable prosperity--one that will expand benefits of to far more of the planet's population it will also while also making that prosperity far more stable, lasting, and meaningful.

On the safety side, it is not just about life essential food, water, energy, and resource security for humanity's future. It is now about the safety, stability, and security of our interconnected global and national economic, political, and social systems.

There is no sense in being indirect or vague in discussing a true life and humanity-critical situation. Therefore, the simple two-part mission goals of the Job One for Humanity climate re-stabilization plan is to:

1.) prevent human civilization from collapsing due to the destabilization of its climate system and consequently its many other global support systems (natural ecosystems, economies as well as social and political systems). And,

2.) prevent humanity and non-human species from suffering needlessly and/or going extinct or going nearly extinct.

The real and growing climate destabilization, systems collapse, and extinction potential above is due to the converging, amplifying and whipsawing positive feedback loops and tipping points within the catastrophic consequence chains of global warming, which is itself is caused by fossil fuel burning.

This climate re-stabilization plan is designed to help you prepare  and adapt by effectively confronting and dealing with the growing possibility of extinction-level climate destabilization and its catastrophic social, financial, environmental and political precursor consequences. (Extinction level here is defined as the projected potential extinction of approximately half or more of the species on earth and most [60-90%] if not all, of humanity. With Our Current Remedial Actions We are Losing the Climate Destabilization Adaptive Challenge:

There is no way to deny it, no matter how much we would like a more hopeful picture! We are not winning the global warming climate destabilization battle!

In fact, we have most likely lost this battle. It is a near virtual certainty in that the plant's temperature will rise a total of six degrees Fahrenheit. Severe and cataclysmic climate destabilization is already here and the only remaining course of action  now is to try to avert an irreversible or a mass extinction-level of global climate destabilization. We are so close to going over the tipping points of the next climate cliff that some researchers feel we have already done so!

In spite of 30 years of warnings and education by scientists, the environmental movement, and an increasing body of compelling scientific evidence (now agreed to by 84% of the scientists qualified in climate science) carbon pollution of the atmosphere has not slowed or even leveled off. It has increased! To make things worse, it has increased in an accelerated rate.

Leading climate scientists like James Hansen say that we would remain safe if carbon in the atmosphere did not go over 350 parts per million (ppm). As of August 2012, carbon ppm was near 400 ppm and increasing at about 2 -3 ppm plus per year in a non-linear and accelerating exponential progression (imagine a rapidly rising and steepening carbon ppm graph curve). If you include methane and other pollutants, the adjusted carbon ppm is currently near 430 ppm currently.

If we include methane, we will be at carbon 450 ppm in 10 years or less.

To put this in perspective, from 1850 to about 1950, carbon pollution was steady at about a 1 ppm per year increase. From 1950 to 2000, it rose to 2 ppm per year and now it is exponentially rising rapidly towards 3 ppm per year in just a few more years. (If carbon continues to rise exponentially and virtually unchecked as it appears it will, some post 2025 predictions project carbon increasing to a possible additional 4 -6 ppm per year.)

Based on carbon ppm levels already in the system and reaching the 450 mark, this means that a two degree Celsius global temperature increase (4 degrees Fahrenheit is already an inescapable reality. One factor seldom considered in the public's awareness of the climate destabilization challenges is the climate momentum factor also relating to why we will reach the carbon 450 mark with certainty.  

Conservative establishment organizations predict we are in for real trouble. Price Cooper Waterhouse,an international accounting firm, did the disheartening temperature calculations in late 2012 and said it is virtually assured we will hit 2 degrees Celsius and that we would probably hit six degrees Celsius. And in 2012 the World Bank predicted a rise of 4 degrees Celsius (8 plus degrees Fahrenheit) by 2100, bringing "extreme heat waves, declining global food stocks, loss of ecosystems, and biodiversity and life‑threatening sea-level rise."

Here is Part of the Reason Why We Are so Challenged in Resolving this Issue:

Greenhouse heat trapped in the oceans and the atmosphere from past carbon pollution has an estimated 40-80 year period  of dissipation. This means that our current climate warming has a 40-80 year momentum behind it.

In other words, if we found a way to stop 100% of all current carbon pollution today, our climate's temperature would have to deal with the heat dissipation momentum of the last 40-80 years before the climate temperature would fully stabilize. This also means that when we finally reduce carbon pollution of the atmosphere, we will have this same climate momentum time delay monster to deal with, but it will be worse because of all of the additional carbon we have added to the atmosphere in the time from now to that later point.  Unfortunately, it gets worse, much worse!

It is also highly probable that because of our denial in facing the looming climate cliff, carbon parts per million in the atmosphere (ppm) will also rise rapidly to carbon 450- 550 ppm, which translates to a 3-4 degree Celsius increase (6-8 degrees Fahrenheit) in global temperature.

This is in part due to:

a.) the physical time lags in developing and deploying the infrastructure needed for the new green energy technologies (25-35 years if everyone on the planet and every government all agreed to do this immediately and there was no budgetary or resource restrictions in completing this life-critical project).

b.) the lack of verifiable and enforceable international laws making large scale carbon pollution of the atmosphere a heavily punished crime.

Making this recipe for mega-disaster even worse, new research indicates that for every degree of Celsius temperature increase, global food production will drop 10% while the human population continues to soar toward 9 billion. Climate scientists who are normally guarded in their language call a 4 degree Celsius increase (6-8 degrees Fahrenheit) "hell on Earth."

If climate destabilization proceeds to the levels currently being predicted, it will eventually cost the global society hundreds of trillions of dollars in crisis recovery as well as soaring insurance rates, massive real estate depreciation, and massive infrastructure losses --- not even taking into account the vast amount of human suffering and death. The Stern Review estimated that the costs of catastrophic climate destabilization will eventually grow to consume as much as 5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of every nation on earth --- and that is not even at climate destabilization's (CCD's) latter stages!

Right now most nations are struggling with over indebtedness and their economies are in trouble with anemic annual growth. How will they remain financially viable, stable, or even in existence if another 5% or more of their total GDP is drained off each year into the continually escalating costs of climate destabilization?

Catastrophic climate destabilization is already here, BIG TIME! Its storms, flooding, wildfires, heat waves, migrating insect infestations, and droughts will continue increasing in scale, severity, and frequency. The real battle now lies in how to keep from going off the climate cliff and keeping climate destabilization from becoming irreversible or a near extinction level event where human-caused carbon pollution levels in the atmosphere push the global temperature increases to 5-6 degrees Celsius (8-12 degrees Fahrenheit) and beyond...

Current efforts at establishing verifiable and enforceable international laws for  reversing climate destabilization have resulted in dismal failure. After many years and over a dozen major meetings the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is largely impotent and shows little hope as it is currently progressing to ever be able to deal with the critical path climate destabilization time lines and the climate's undisclosed and unknown tipping points.

Additionally, Cap and Trade laws, (which are not the right laws we need anyway--fee and dividend are the correct new laws) have only been passed in one U.S. state (California). According to leading experts like James Hansen, these fossil fuel lobbyists’ watered down, ineffective Cap and Trade laws will not save us from catastrophic and irreversible climate destabilization in time.

The Four Most Current Scenarios for Climate Destabilization by the World's Most Recognized Authority

The following four climate destabilization scenarios are based on the predictions of the United Nations IPPC climate predictions. These are the most authoritative and recognized predictions currently used by governments to evaluate and set national climate policy. They are based on on the work of thousands of recognized climate and related scientists:

Scenario One: If global warming is at the most optimistic of projections of only a 2 degree Celsius increase by 2100 (4 plus degrees Fahrenheit) and we have no climate system surprises or go over unexpected climate tipping points, many climate disasters will still occur and hundreds of millions will suffer, but we should be able to manage it for the future of humanity.

Scenario Two: If global warming is at a more likely 3 degree Celsius increase by 2100 (6 plus degrees Fahrenheit) and we have no climate system surprises or go over unexpected climate tipping points, horrendous climate catastrophes will occur and billions will suffer. Humanity will be unpleasantly changed for centuries.

Scenario Three: If global warming is at the less optimistic of projections of only a 4 degree Celsius increase by 2100 (8 plus degrees Fahrenheit) and we do have climate system surprises or go over unexpected climate tipping points, during that period humanity may be on the road to extinction or near extinction.

Scenario Four: If global warming is at the least optimistic of projections of only a 6 or more degree Celsius increase by 2100 (12 plus degrees Fahrenheit) and we have lots of climate system surprises or go over unexpected climate tipping points, humanity has little hope.

In the worst case scenario above there may be as few as 1-2 billion human survivors left.

Keep in mind that in each of the four scenarios above for the negative climate effects start slow, but increase in scale, severity, and frequency--not just linearly, but exponentially as well. Temperature increases will most likely occur earlier and at higher levels over the time period until 2100 than is currently being predicted.

In Scenario One, life on Earth might not look so bad for many individuals in wealthy western countries until 2040-2050 and still may even be manageable in 2070-2090. In Scenario Four, most of humanity could already be in severe stress and massive catastrophe by 2040-2060. We just do not know yet which of the four scenarios are actually unfolding now or if any of these scenarios is even close to a correct risk analysis when critical climate tipping points have not been factored into the calculations.

In spite of the many still unknown tipping points and other uncertainties of climate destabilization we can look to climate history for likely hints about what our human behavior is likely to be and that will determine which scenario is most likely to happen. Human history has resoundingly demonstrated that people, businesses and nations do not normally make the kind of major and costly changes needed until "the pain of going forward is less than the pain of where they are."

In spite of all political rhetoric to the contrary, this implies that until the climate destabilization crisis becomes far, far worse than hurricane Sandy was, (which will cost the U.S. in excess of 55 billion dollars) it is unlikely that much if any effective national or international climate re-stabilization actions will be taken. Unfortunately, by that time, because of climate tipping points being crossed, it could easily be too late to avert irreversible, near extinction level or extinction-level climate destabilization. Unless there is a real miracle, it is not likely that the world's politicians will do anything substantive until we start having regular climate destabilization mega-disasters each costing somewhere in the range of 1/2 to one trillion dollars.

This likely ongoing failure to act collectively with verifiable and enforceable international climate laws also implies that in order to ensure as many  as possible survive, we need to prepare for and adapt to the projected worsening climate conditions now while still doing we can to also adapt to and lessen the effects of the rapidly escalating climate destabilization.

The Personal Health Costs of Air Pollution Caused by Fossil Fuel Burning

Air pollution caused mostly by fossil fuel burning is not just a global warming challenge, it is also a serious personal health challenge to your and your family's present and long-term future wellbeing. Outdoor air pollution has major, steady and near-invisible negative health effects.

Outdoor air pollution is also directly related to several of the biggest global causes of death and directly or indirectly it causes approximately 11 to 13% (about one in 8) of all deaths globally. Below you will find more details on the personal health implications of escalating fossil fuel burning which is also polluting our atmosphere and warming our planet.

Some Key Facts:

a.) The Annual Death Rate: According to the World Health Organization, Air pollution kills 7 million people a year globally, 80 percent of them from heart disease and stroke. This 7 million total makes air pollution the world’s largest single environmental health risk, accounting for one out of eight deaths.

“The risks from air pollution are now far greater than previously thought or understood, particularly for heart disease and strokes,” WHO’s Dr. Maria Neira said in a statement. “Few risks have a greater impact on global health today than air pollution; the evidence signals the need for concerted action to clean up the air we all breathe.”

The WHO estimates that air pollution was involved in 4.3 million deaths in households that used wood, coal or other open-air fires, while an additional 3.7 million died from the effects of outdoor pollution. (Of that 3.7 million annual amount who died from the effects of outdoor air pollution, it was caused mostly by the air pollution caused by burning fossil fuels. b.) The Specific Health Risks of Air Pollution:

The following are debilitating, slow-developing, and painful degenerative conditions caused by air pollution that could already be affecting you or your family. A World Health Organization survey found that:

• 40 percent of deaths linked to outdoor air pollution were from heart disease;
• another 40 percent from stroke;
• 11 percent from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD);
• 6 percent from lung cancer and
• 3 percent from acute lower respiratory infections in children.

c.) Allergies, Asthma and Children: There also is growing evidence that rising global mean temperatures are impacting both the timing and abundance of airborne allergens, especially pollen. Experimental studies have demonstrated significant increases in pollen production resulting from exposure to increased CO2 concentrations, while examination of recent trends have linked elevated pollen levels to increases in temperature.

Additionally, some studies suggest stronger allergenicity of pollen from trees grown at increased temperatures. Another study (Patz, et al,) warn of the potential public health consequences of these changes:

“climate change may adversely impact the occurrence and severity of asthma, the most common chronic disease of childhood, and affect the timing or duration of seasonal allergies such as hay fever.”

Combined with the observed doubling of pediatric asthma prevalence within the past twenty years, children’s physiological and behavioral susceptibility to air pollution increases their risk of being adversely affected by changes in the concentration and distribution of pollutants.

d.) Other Effects of Air Pollution: In addition to aggravating chronic respiratory and cardiovascular disease, exposure to air pollution can damage lung tissue, lead to premature death, and may even contribute to cancer. Global warming may exacerbate these problems by affecting the concentration, distribution, and type of both manmade and natural air pollutants.

Ozone levels, for example, are likely to increase because higher temperatures accelerate the rate at which ground-level ozone (the main component of smog) is formed. While long-term exposure to ozone is linked to the development and exacerbation of chronic lung diseases, even short-term exposure to relatively low ozone concentrations can cause lung inflammation, acutely decreased lung function, and respiratory impairment.

A 2004 study using global warming and air quality models in the 31-county New York metropolitan region projected a median increase of ozone-related acute mortality across the region of 4.5 percent by the 2050s.

Although increasing atmospheric CO2 concentrations have no known direct adverse health effects, other byproducts of fossil fuel combustion, including airborne particulate matter (PM), sulfur oxides (SOx), and nitrogen oxides (NOx), are associated with a number of well-established health risks.

Consequently, a continued rise in CO2 emissions would be mirrored by a rise in the harmful effects of these combustion byproducts. In recognizing the link between CO2 emissions and PM pollution, one study (Cifuentes et al.) estimated that adoption of existing, readily acquirable greenhouse gas mitigation technologies would reduce PM concentrations by 10 percent, thus avoiding 64,000 premature deaths and 65,000 chronic bronchitis cases through 2020 in four cities alone—New York City, USA; Santiago, Chile; Mexico City, Mexico; and São Paulo, Brazil.

These studies demonstrate that actions aimed at mitigating the atmospheric accumulation of greenhouse gases would have the powerful additional benefit of reducing the adverse health effects associated with a range of air pollutants.

In Summary: The pollution of our air by fossil fuel burning has many direct negative effects on our world besides global warming and climate destabilization. The personal negative health effects can be summed up by increased death from heart disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer, and  acute lower respiratory infections in children. These are health issues that can be prevented or lessened by dramatically reducing fossil fuel use.

The two big shockers of climate destabilization caused by fossil fuel pollution induced global warming are:

Shocker 1.) No matter what we do now, humanity will likely be facing a global average temperature increase of 6-12 degrees Fahrenheit within as little as 40-70 years. This is that based on an internal dialectical meta-system analysis by our research staff of over 7,000 pages of the current climate data research and summaries.

A 4.6 degree increase in global average temperature has been the official United Nations low and very optimistic estimate by 2100. This estimate is based on the operating premise that "everything happening in the climate system will always work perfectly as predicted  in our favor and no known or unknown climate tipping points will be crossed."

Our research of the current climate data and lack of tipping point inclusion in projections indicates that a six to eight degree Fahrenheit increase is the far more realistic and balanced projection by far sooner than 2100. A 12 degree Fahrenheit or more increase in average global temperature is a pessimistic, but also a well warranted estimate could realistically occur far before 2100.

The 12 degree Fahrenheit is based on if:

a.) we continue increasing our carbon pollution into the atmosphere at our current exponentially rising levels or,

b.) we cross any more of the many unknown climate system tipping points within the numerous critical subsystems of the climate meta-system. (For a detailed discussion of the numerous climate tipping points, click here.)

Shocker 2.) Climate destabilization's first wave of super storms or "millennial storms" (storms that have not been seen for thousands or tens of thousands of years) will not be coming 60-100 years from now as is currently thought. Our evaluation of the current climate data implies that these new super storms, super droughts, super floods and super wildfires will begin replacing the current extreme weather waves that we now experiencing in as little as 15 to 30 years. These new millennial super storms also could be 20-50 percent stronger than anything that we have ever recorded.

Why will all this climate mess happen? Simply put, we did not globally or drastically lower carbon and methane pollution a long time ago --- when we should have done so! If you look at  the radical climate restabilization actions we need to take, we have basically done little to nearly nothing that would effectively resolve global warming for over 30 years.

To be absolutely clear:

The battle to minimize climate destabilization to less that 2 degrees Celsius (4.6 degrees Fahrenheit) has already been lost! We all need to accept this harsh reality and move on to preparing and adapting to what is coming --- while we still have time!

We now have no other prudent choice but to do whatever we can to try to lessen the long-term pain that humanity will endure. The good news is that we do still have enough time to prepare ourselves, our families, our businesses, and nations for the tremendous stress that climate destabilization will put us into, but again, only if we get serious right now and start preparing for it.

Some of the Science Behind the Two Climate Shockers:

The popular media keeps telling us that the current climate target in average global temperature is no more than a 2 degree Celsius (4.6 degree Fahrenheit) increase, but that is a virtual impossibility. It is a virtually impossible target due to the existing and "already built into the system" global warming atmospheric carbon levels as well as the exponentially increasing carbon and methane pollution. To make the climate re-stabilization matters worse, almost every government or international 5-7 year update report coming out on the climate over the last 25 years has repeatedly adjusted their climate threat estimates whenever reissued to the negative by an average of 20-40%.

Please review the "Keating" carbon in the atmosphere graphs just below for:

a.) since the industrial revolution, (the first graph below)

b.) the last several hundred thousand years, (the third graph below)

c.) going back millions of years (the fourth graph below)

Notice that the average carbon parts per million (ppm) never rose much above 270 ppm until the industrial revolution of the 1880s. For hundreds of thousands of years before that it stayed close in that general range.

Only hundreds of millions of years ago were  carbon ppm levels much higher during Earth's turbulent developmental period.

Something has radically changed in carbon ppm in the atmosphere since the beginning of the fossil fuel powered industrial revolution of the 1880s. We have now crossed carbon 400 ppm.

Extrapolating on the exponentially rising carbon levels each year, we find that we could be at carbon 550 ppm in as little as 30-40 years or less. (In 2013 we increased carbon by 2.9 ppm in just one year.) If we hit carbon 550 ppm--as it appears we will--this "seals the deal" on radical destructive changes for most life on earth.

What is hard to fathom is that even if we stopped all carbon and methane pollution from fossil fuel related use today, it is estimated that it will take hundreds of years to bring the atmosphere back to safe carbon ppm levels. We really do need to start preparing and adapting both individually and collectively!

It appears global average temperature is now increasing by about 1/2 degree Fahrenheit for every 25 additional parts per million of carbon going into the atmosphere or less. (See the second graph below.)

Please also keep in mind that rate of temperature increase for every 25 additional parts per million of carbon going into the atmosphere does not include any climate tipping points that are crossed as the atmosphere heats up more and then more and more carbon enters the atmosphere at a faster and faster rate. This is because few if any climate tipping points being crossed appear to be included in current climate temperature and timetable predictions.

 

This devastating failure to handle the atmospheric carbon and methane pollution threat is also due to the massive global confusion and inertia surrounding the correct critical path, and "first things first" actions needed to avert the near certain global average temperature increase of 6-12 degrees Fahrenheit.)

Increased or decreased carbon ppm in the atmosphere appears to have a direct or near direct relationship to rising and falling temperature all the way back to Earth's earliest times millions of years ago (graph two just below). Please notice on this graph that life as we know it today only really began to flourish when the carbon levels and temperatures were in a range closer to today.

 

 

In spite of the above facts, humanity is not adapting well to this or the many other disturbing global ecological feedback signals telling us something is wrong with our climate. This climate data and many other signals are telling our national and global cultures that too many of our current lifestyle and livelihood practices are highly unsustainable or even destructive to our climate as well as the other planetary bio-systems. Numerous scientists have already come out and said, "we have now entered into the Sixth Great Extinction period of human history."

We believe they are right and that is a strong sign that we are in an evolutionary natural compression period and potential second evolutionary bottleneck! Everyday it is becoming more obvious to society’s most thoughtful and aware individuals that the current national and global cultures will soon going to go through a climate destabilization period that is hopefully temporary:

a.) evolutionary bottleneck and natural compression period or,

b.) a cataclysmic massive adaptive readjustment or even possibly,

c.) a massive global systems collapse in an act of unfortunately self-induced destructive creation.

In evolution when a part of a whole or a whole system continually fails to adapt to appropriate and/or increasing correctional feedback, it is eventually broken down and recycled into new evolutionary experiments that hopefully will be better adapted.

At this time the global climate system are degraded by escalating fossil fuel carbon and methane pollution. This ongoing degradation implies that our ecosystems and other climate-dependent economic, social, and political systems will eventually begin slowly cascading into catastrophe and eventual collapse. This natural chain reaction of system collapses is partially the fault of today's many interconnected interdependencies within our global systems.

This destabilization of the global climate (droughts, wildfires, floods and superstorms of increasing scale, severity and frequency) will also unfortunately converge into and then amplify and whipsaw many of the other national and global challenges we now face. This perfect storm  will push those other challenges over their own internal respective tipping points into even greater challenges and catastrophes.

The Main Global Challenges Facing Humanity Today Are:

Challenge 1: Failure to evolve a global governing body with enforceable legislative, judicial, and executive powers.

This single evolutionary failure then allows the following potential Second Evolutionary Bottleneck of global challenges to either occur, continue to grow unchecked, or remain unresolved.

Challenge 2: Overpopulation.  Earth may have the more realistic carrying capacity for about 2 billion people. We are near 8 billion racing to 9 billion.

Challenge 3: Climate Destabilization. Fueled by increasing population and increased use of carbon polluting energy sources, we have radically increased global climate destabilization (global warming) which then increases: reef collapse, desertification, coastline loss, species extinction, and water pollution (from excessive ocean carbon capture, global warming ocean heat capture and other pollution sources).

Challenge 4: Resource Depletion. Fueled by overpopulation and climate destabilization we are increasing  deforestation, food shortages (1 billion people are hungry now) ocean fish stock losses, and the early attainment of peak oil. (Depleting resources also increases global poverty.)

Challenge 5: Global Economic Instability. All of the above challenges increase global economic instability, economic inequality (conflicts between rich and poor), and produces rising national deficits. (National deficits particularly in the US are rising with our growing global challenges and moving us closer to a global financial crisis.)

Challenge 6: Political Instability in Countries with Low Management and Resource Resilience. All of the previous above global challenges plus increased political instability further increase the likelihood of more wars, terrorism, and political injustice. And finally,

Challenge 7: Global Pandemic. As all of the above resilience-reducing global challenges worsen, this increases the possibility of a global pandemic. (This is due to existing or new diseases, the mobility and migration of world populations, and the deterioration of global health services as the stew of all  the global challenges listed above comes to a global warming amplified boil.)

Of all of the global challenges above, climate destabilization is the biggest keystone multiplier and amplifier as well as most immediate and probable trigger for the greatest chain reaction of whipsawing ecological, economic, social and political system collapses in all of human history.

You have just completed all but this last Essential Information section of the Job One Plan. There has been so much difficult climate destabilization related news in those sections it's time for a little bit more good news before you begin the actual Job One climate re-stabilization action steps...

Holding the Big Picture Perspective

Evolution has many natural compression periods. Whether you are aware of it or not, we are in one of those natural compression periods right now. This particular compression period relates most directly to the collection of the largest global challenges that we are now facing. (Global challenges such as resource depletion, global warming caused climate destabilization, economic instability, poverty, overpopulation, terrorism conflicts and wars leading to political and social instability, non global warming caused environmental pollution and ecological degradation and pandemic.)

Of our current largest global challenges climate destabilization is the one keystone, must-resolve roadblock and urgent global adaptive challenge that humanity must first resolve to survive or ever create the reality of a Sustainable Prosperity future for all. This urgent keystone global challenge consists of how to:

a.) prepare for,

b.) adapt to,

c.) and hopefully then lessen and eventually resolve the escalating environmental destruction, economic loss, and suffering due to increasing global warming and its consequent climate destabilization.

Without a doubt there also IS much to be concerned about in ALL of our other escalating global challenges. Unfortunately, it is climate destabilization that IS the largest, single and immediate, keystone threat multiplier and convergence catalyst for almost ALL of the other global challenges.

Even though things may be going well at this time in your local, regional, or national area, it is not hard to sense that at the global level we are going in the wrong direction on most of the pre-mentioned escalating global challenges. Therefore, there is a real urgency to handle escalating climate destabilization on a "first things first" job one priority basis.

Natural Evolutionary Compressions Serve a Vital Role

When things are not adapting well, natural evolutionary compression periods bring things to a" boil" and intensify the adaptive challenge's pain or loss. Evolution "does" this so that the building pressure and pent up "energy" of the compression period can suddenly be released like a compressed spring to help break the inertia and "energize" the critical adaptation.

A good example of this normally recurring  evolutionary compression cycle in history is how after the painful compression period of the European Dark Ages humanity suddenly surged forward into the great European Renaissance period.

Our current natural evolutionary compression period is defined by:

a.) how our major global adaptive challenges are still escalating and whipsawing into each other and moving toward an eventual catastrophic convergence.

b.) that we still appear functionally unable to evolve the necessary effective global governmental mechanisms with appropriate enforcement powers to resolve these major global adaptive challenges.

If left unresolved, the natural but escalating evolutionary compression process acting upon our current converging global challenges will catastrophically destabilize most if not all of the planet.

The good news reminder once again states that:

a.) this should be a temporary compressive destabilization period,

b.) it should also eventually lead to a great surge forward of positive growth for humanity,

c.) it’s just another adaptive challenge in the great transformational, evolutionary adventure and process of evolving life, and

d.) everything that we have to do to re-stabilize the climate on an urgent, first things first basis also directly or indirectly forwards building more sustainable lifestyles and livelihoods and a Sustainable Prosperity for all. So none of our efforts in resolving climate destabilization will ever be wasted.

Other Factors Relating to Natural Evolutionary Compressions

Evolution tends to do everything at once. In one place, it will be moving progressively forward; in another it will be in retrogression. In some other place it will be be moving in a natural compression state or it will be meandering seemingly without aim. In other places, it will appear to be holding a somewhat steady-state.

All of these different states of the directional qualities of evolution are going on in complex dialectical processes and relationships, instigating, in many cases changes to new evolutionary states.

Sometimes just before an evolutionary system or subsystem collapses it goes into an oscillating state. Some states follow or leave each other at various times.

Often after a growth state a natural evolutionary compression will take place. If this compression state is successfully adapted to, the compression will lesson or stabilize or even reverse itself into new growth. If the compression state is not successfully adapted to, it usually results in a retrogression that leads to  a secondary compression that may then now have enough compressed and pent-up energy within itself to spring forward out of the deeper regression.

How the above various cycles and processes of evolution relate to the current global climate destabilization natural compression is telling for the future of humanity. If we do not adapt sufficiently, it is reasonable to expect that our various systems will regress to some prior state in an effort to reestablish order and a healthier survival level. This retrogression would probably involve martial law and loss of human rights that have developed over hundreds of years. The good news here is as was mentioned above, that retrogression itself will create a secondary compression. The secondary compression will then hopefully supply additional energy and motivation to successfully adapt to the challenges that have been presented to us so we do not have to enter into an additional an even deeper regression.

Not resolving the natural evolutionary compression going on with current global climate destabilization and allowing it to escalate to the level global retrogression is not a path any rational human being would ever want to take. It would be like voting to take society back to the world of Mad Max...

We really can work together and we have to work together! On this issue we do not have to “polarize to mobilize” if we once again hold the big picture perspective and are creative and smart!

Here’s why global climate destabilization is inherently and ultimately non-polarizing:

a.) Eventually everyone will be adversely affected in one-way or another.

Some will be affected less in the beginning. Some will even experience some benefits in early stages, but eventually as climate destabilization escalates toward irreversibility or it moves toward the extinction level climate destabilization, we will all suffer near equally no matter how rich or insulated we thought we could make ourselves.

Right now, whether we know it or not all of our long term climate self-interests are aligned. We either all win together or we all lose together.

b.) With the self-interested force of survival ultimately aligning our long-term self-interests, it is now just a matter of widespread education and passing enforceable climate restabilization laws. We do not have to play the “us versus them” game or the other blaming or shaming games.

We do not have to make those who do not understand the incredibly complex climate data into bad, greedy, or evil people. Never forget that general ignorance of the climate destabilization system complexities is just where we are in our current personal, corporate, or national evolution.

c.) If we are tempted to polarize into us versus them strategies, we need to remind ourselves that everyone, every organization and every nation is at a different level of evolutionary development and maturity. Evolutionary development and maturity depends upon physical, psychological, cultural, educational, and, if you are a spiritual person, even spiritual development and maturity.

No matter what position a seeming adversary to climate re-stabilization may hold, they are just reflecting their current level of evolutionary development and maturity. Never forget that their current evolutionary development and maturity level is also part of an ongoing dialectical process that is in constant change. Given the right circumstances their positions can change just as your positions have changed. This is true even in light of the famous Mark Twain quote.

This means that our only true adversary in restoring the climate to its previous balance is our current ignorance! Even greater news is that climate destabilization ignorance among our lawmakers and power brokers is a challenge that can actually be solved if we are skillful, fast, and determined...

The process of Destructive Creation is a meta-pattern of successful universe evolution. This meta-pattern is essentially the breakdown and recycling of any and all non-learning, non-adaptive, and non "co-operating" parts or wholes to be recycled and reused later in some other new evolutionary experiment or situation to once again attempt to further forward the progressive directionality of evolution.

Many individuals who have survived great catastrophes and collapses in their lives have said that the catastrophe or collapse gave them the chance to see aspects of their lives and their world that either society or they themselves had hidden behind veils of denial. They also said that their life catastrophe or collapse was absolutely essential at that time to finally give them the opportunity to change, restructure, and take more responsibility for what they had finally discovered behind the veil of denial.

Historically, great catastrophe or a collapse has often also preceded a period of great renewal, advancement, and growth. In the last Five Great Extinction Events occurring over the last 3 billion years on Earth, when 50-90% of all species died, some species always adapted and survived. A new apex species always evolved that was better equipped to deal with the new environment.

As a simple cultural example of this idea of greater good often following a catastrophic event  as well as new creation following a period of destruction, consider the Black Death and the Dark Ages. The great destructive creation of the Black Death and the Dark Ages was followed by the great advances of the Enlightenment Age of human history where among other wonderful advances modern science was born.

If climate destabilization continues to escalate unchecked, it will most likely bring about its own kind of destructive creation. This creative destruction might be in the forms of a cleansing and re-aligning collection of super storms, droughts, flooding wildfires, soil degradation, changing growing seasons and locations, and other weather-related global catastrophes. Maybe we will even enter a new kind of temporary “Dark Ages” period.

After this dark climate destabilization retrogressive phase, it will be far more likely that what remains of humanity will finally be ready to pay attention and learn the hard climate lessons that humanity seems to be reluctant to confront and learn now. To say the least, these new lessons would include sustainability, green energy generation, good atmospheric stewardship, and better global cooperation.

After this dark climate destabilization phase, humanity would have experienced both a simultaneous and collective holocaust-like “Never Again” moment at a scale larger than any other collective trauma in human history. This deep and excruciating collective trauma memory would act to help prevent such climate de-stabilization and human devastation and trauma from ever occurring again. Once again, seeing life and evolution still somehow going on from the big picture perspective is poignantly helpful in this situation.

If our planetary civilization has become so fossilized and self-protecting of the status quo and it has lost its ability to adapt to this collective climate threat and, if it continues to make minimum or insignificant climate re-stabilization improvements, there is little doubt that catastrophe, widespread ecological, social, economic and political calamity, and eventual collapse will occur.

If we do not resolve climate destabilization soon, it may be vitally necessary for human civilization to retrogress temporarily and collapse under the weight of climate destabilization’s numerous and often unthinkable calamities. This may then allow a new and better civilization and new and better political, economic and social systems to emerge within the post-collapse now VERY willing-to-change remaining survivors.

Maybe only a new and massive Destructive Creation episode within the ongoing 6th Great Extinction will be able to bring about a re-structured, re-aligned, and more sustainable global political, social and economic order. Maybe only this temporary retrogressive catastrophe can produce a new more just and appropriate way of living sustainably for ALL of Earth's inhabitants.

 

The "Destructive Creation" of Continually Escalating Climate De-Stabilization Will Eventually Force us to Resolve the Deepest Underlying Causes of Climate De-Stabilization, which Lie Far Deeper than the Burning of Fossil Fuels:

In order to ever realistically stop burning fossil fuels in time to prevent irreversible or near-extinction level climate destabilization, we will have to face and resolve the deepest structural roots of the the fossil fuel burning problem of polluting our own atmosphere. The deepest structural roots of the the fossil fuel burning problem are:

a.) rising population and overpopulation (we have far too many people for the Earth's carrying capacity. As our population escalates so do our energy needs.)

b.) a global economic system and economic rules that does not currently work to support and sustain our critical human life-supporting ecosystems (Within the Job One plan and the principles of sustainable prosperity you will discover the specifics of what changes need to be made to the world's current economic system and rules to help immediately and permanently resolve climate destabilization.)

c.) unsustainable development in all its forms As part of the long-term structural solution to catastrophic climate destabilization [as well as our other major current global challenges,] we will eventually be forced to evolve sustainable development and sustainable prosperity lifestyles, livelihoods, communities, and nations. We need to "Manhattan Project" climate destabilization to rapidly move from dirty global warming causing fossil fuel energy generation to green energy generation. We will also need to quickly move away from our current unsustainable big carbon/methane polluting agribusiness just like the way we need to move away from fossil fuels.)

d.) a lack of an empowered global government that can effectively manage and regulate cross border meta-challenges like global warming caused climate destabilization with verifiable and enforceable international law. This lack of effective global government is the deepest structural threat to the health, stability and future of all of Earth's inhabitants and its future generations.

To do the above evolutionary adaptations successfully, we will eventually be forced to engage in a massive restructuring and realignment of our economic, social, and political systems. (Maybe even our religious systems as well to deal with overpopulation.) In their current state of evolutionary development, the conditions and rules of these economic, social and political systems are also the fundamental underlying causes that have created climate destabilization and that are allowing it to expand unresolved.

The good news here is that --- even if we continue to ignore or move too slowly to re-stabilize the climate, eventually the evolutionary meta-principle of Destructive Creation will take over and literally force us to make painful changes that we are not making now.

Through Earth’s previous great extinction events, life has survived and it will most likely go on! As mentioned before, over  3.2 billion years of Earth's biological evolution, life has survived Five Great Extinction Events .

When one sees a possible irreversible or an extinction level climate event from the perspective of 13.7 billion years of successful universe evolution, 4.5 billion years of successful planetary evolution, 3.5 billion years of successful biological evolution, and 10,000 years of successful human evolution, it comes once again into a more manageable and balanced perspective.

As mentioned earlier in Job One, when one views the climate destabilization challenge from this much larger universe and planetary evolutionary perspective some interesting facts emerge for understanding the climate destabilization challenge. In the previous Five Great Extinction Events anywhere from 50-90% of all the species that existed on Earth at the time went extinct. Yet life and evolution still carried on by moving into new species and some new species became the next dominant species.

The recovery of species density and species populations after each of the Five Great Extinction Events took an average of 10 million years. Some of these Great Extinction events occurred slowly, taking many thousands of years. In looking at climate destabilization, it is also important to keep in mind that extinction, collapse, and renewal are all built into the evolutionary process and system as a natural and healthy part of the evolutionary system when needed.

We do have a few other big picture good evolutionary reasons to hope that we can rise to this climate challenge:

a.) What is unique today that did not exist in any of the previously mentioned Five Great Extinction Events is that a species has evolved that can intelligently and rationally reflect upon its behavior as well as upon the evolutionary processes of the planet and universe within which it lives. This species effectively gathers new knowledge and it then is highly adaptable in modifying its behavior using that knowledge once it perceives a real threat.

This species has also organized cooperation on larger and larger scales. It has evolved from small hunter-gatherer groups, to agrarian villages, to warrior city-states, to great 20th century nations and now to 21st century international cooperative alliances of multiple nations such as the European Union.

b.) When one also looks at the evolution of the universe as a whole system from its very beginning to the present, one sees recurring patterns, which are greatly reassuring to the idea that “we should be able to overcome this climate challenge.”

Two of those reassuring evolutionary patterns are that

a.) “evolution always seems to work out for the good of the whole” and

b.) “that in spite of how it looks right now, the progress of evolution as we know it --- is the best it's ever been!”

The planet’s and universe’s evolutionary processes themselves will help to preserve at least enough of the human species and the other species on the planet so that the evolutionary process can go on and learn from the climate challenge that we now have to overcome. Because evolution has also progressed to “the best it's ever been” and produced an amazingly adaptable and intelligent species such as humanity, we have the best chance of any species in all of evolutionary history to rise above this climate challenge and cooperate in new ways.

Climate destabilization is more than just the combination of the definitions of climate and destabilization. It is more than just what is happening with human-caused global warming precipitated by the carbon and methane pollution of the atmosphere, which then creates the temperature increasing greenhouse gas effect.

To better understand what the definition of climate destabilization is, it is helpful to know what a stable climate is and how the global climate works. It is also helpful to understand how the climate has worked over long periods of time.

Our global climate is a complex adaptive system that has held many different relatively stable states over Earth's 4.5 billion year history. Our global climate has many climate related subsystems that also can affect the stability of the global climate. Some of the main climate subsystems that directly and indirectly affect the overall stability of the master global climate system and its conditions are:

a.) the carbon-absorbing oceans with its currents and different water temperatures that holding different amounts of absorbed carbon,

b.) the glaciers and massive Arctic and Antarctic ice packs reflecting heat back out into space,

c.) the carbon-eating and carbon releasing forests,

d.) the carbon and methane producing volcanoes,

e.) the carbon-eating or carbon-releasing condition of the soils,

f.) the total area of heat-reflecting snow and ice cover on the planet at any one time (the albedo effect),

g.) carbon-eating plankton and oxygen producing plankton in the oceans,

h.) the total amount of water vapor in the atmosphere,

i.) the amount of methane being released by tundra permafrost,

j.) the amount of methane being released from methane clathrate crystals on the ocean bottom,

k.) how much human-caused carbon and methane is being released into the atmosphere from fossil fuel burning and other uses and,

l.) even slight changes in the earth’s axis position that occur about every 40,000 years also affect the average global temperature range.

These climate subsystems as well as other minor climate subsystems can have the following characteristics common to complex adaptive systems. They can be:

a.) powerful,

b.) often-unknown,

c.)  sometimes highly unpredictable, and

d.)  sometimes have nonlinear effects on key climate “tipping points” within the TOTAL global climate system.

When the global climate system destabilizes, the global climate moves from one fairly stable state of dynamic equilibrium into and  through a new transitional state of instability and greater unpredictability until the global climate eventually finds a new, but different fairly stable state of dynamic equilibrium at some new climate quality level and temperature range. (A dynamic equilibrium is not static or a non-changing equilibrium. It is an equilibrium that varies within a general or average range of some quality i.e. average temperature.)

This implies that a useful and accurate definition for climate destabilization would be:

“a transitional state of escalating global climate instability characterized by greater unpredictability, which lasts until the global climate eventually finds a new and different stable state of dynamic equilibrium at some different level of temperature and other climate positive or negative qualities from what it has held for thousands of years."

For hundreds of thousands of years, our planet has moved between a fairly stable state of climate dynamic equilibrium known as an Ice Age into an alternating fairly stable state of climate dynamic equilibrium where the ice recedes and no Ice Age exists. Because of the warmer temperatures and lack of glacial ice cover humanity has flourished since the last Ice Age ended about 12,000 years ago.

It gives a basic yet detailed animated explanation of changing states of climate stability, what is actually happening now to destabilize the global climate as well as how it is happening. As our current global climate moves farther into a global warming destabilizing transitional period and into a new state of dynamic equilibrium many rapid changes are occurring. These changes are characterized in part by all kinds of storms and other weather related changes of increasing scale, frequency and severity.

We are experiencing major changes in rainfall and snowfall with either too much at one time or not enough. In both the atmosphere and the oceans, the increasing average global temperature of climate destabilization then directly or indirectly acts in a positive feedback loop to further increase the destabilization of our global climate by increasing: reef collapse, desertification, deforestation, coast line loss, wildfires, droughts, superstorms, floods, key productive soil degradation, growing season changes, species extinction, and water pollution. Unfortunately, these changes will continue to get worse until we have completed this transition and a new more stable climate and a new climate dynamic equilibrium range is established.

The long term and big picture good news here is that eventually, a destabilized global climate will seek to establish a new dynamic equilibrium at some new dynamic equilibrium temperature and other climate qualities state. This means that if even we continue as we are now and we continue to fail to mitigate global warming and its consequent climate destabilization, we will eventually experience a new fairly stable climate dynamic equilibrium and the good news is that --- stable is generally always better than unstable when it comes to our global climate.

For some individuals, on a personal level this will seem like a remote benefit. But, for those individuals who see themselves as part of the great stream of life, they will be able to see some benefit in this very worst-case scenario for climate destabilization...

Some parts of evolution on Earth after the Sixth Great Extinction Event will go on just like in all of the previous Five Great Extinction Events. This time, unlike in the last great extinction a new species will not replace the dinosaurs. This time, it may replace humanity and become the new apex species on Earth.

As an extreme solution in a science fiction like fail-safe measure, we may still have enough time left to “parent” a new hybrid species of self-conscious and self-replicating robot bodies with artificial intelligence (AI.) This new hybrid species could still ideally utilize all of our accumulated cultural knowledge, skills and experience. In this way humanity will go on in a sense within its hopefully smarter and better climate-adapted trans-human, AI “children.” In this way and, in a new form post-human evolution on Earth will still go on.

At an even bigger picture level of universe evolution, it is nearly mathematically impossible that the evolution of some other form of life is not going on (or could soon go,) on one or more of the billions of other potentially inhabitable planets contained within the 170 to 400 billion galaxies within the known universe. If our human life form does not go on because of the climate mistakes we make on Earth we can at least feel some confidence and comfort in the fact that somewhere else in the universe life will go on evolving and learning!

Assuming that you have read the preceding Benefits of Global Warming and Essential Climate Information sections of Job One, you are now ready to make an important decision that will empower your Job One actions. This life- critical important decision is:

"Do you want to be an active part of the climate re-stabilization solution and work effectively to lesson, slow and eventually resolve it?"

This decision should not be entered into lightly but considered in a careful and thorough manner. Even after reading the preceding Job One online booklet sections, some people still do not believe that global warming and climate destabilization are real and that it is something that we have to deal with. For them, they stop reading at some point and go on with their lives just as they had before.

Other people look at only the preceding Job One online booklet sections sections and feel totally overwhelmed. They just want to move on with their lives and not have to think about how bleak the future will be if we do not resolve this truly overwhelming adaptive challenge.

While the escalating climate destabilization adaptive challenge might be part of most individual's natural zone of concern, some parts of it are not really within most individual’s effective "zone of influence." Worse yet, feeling worried about something that you have little or no adequate influence or control over is a form of psychological torment in itself.

Individuals who feel overwhelmed by the scope of the climate destabilization challenge might not go on and involve themselves in the Job One re-stabilization steps --- even though there ARE many important steps within the Job One plan that anyone can do and that are within most people's immediate zones of of personal or collective influence. In the following personal and collective Action Steps sections of Job One Plan you will find effective action steps that actually CAN be done successfully and that are within either your individual or collective zones of influence. The Job One personal and collective Action Steps sections deal with the four most critical areas of needed individual and collective action or change for resolving the climate destabilization challenge.

Collectively, all the action steps are meant to provide a "first things first" critical path for what must be done to prevent us from going over the climate destabilization cliff. We've decided to stop using the term global warming as it is often confusing to the general public and simply not accurate enough in describing the situation that humanity now faces. Instead, when referring to this issue, we will use the term climate destabilization because this is what we are really dealing with here.

The term global warming is problematic for several reasons. First of all, it leads people to believe that the whole world will be getting warmer. Yet as the average temperature of the planet increases, certain places will actually become colder. Many places will become warmer, it's true, but the problem is not just that our air conditioning costs will rise. We'll also be dealing with more frequent and more severe storms, which will take new pathways never seen before. Flooding will increase in certain places while desertification will be the issue in others. Thus, climate destabilization is the term that we will use, as it more accurately reflects what is already happening with our current climate and it is what will continue to happen in the near future with increasing severity, scale, and frequency unless we take dramatic, planet-wide action immediately!

Here is what we suggest you do in this personal action step:

A.) Stop using the terms global warming and climate change. Use only climate cliff, climate destabilization, catastrophic climate destabilization, irreversible climate destabilization and extinction-level climate destabilization! Keep in mind that accurate fear is not a bad thing. It is an evolutionary mechanism used to mobilize the resources of the body to better resolve the real threat of accurate fears.

Climate destabilization is an accurate and real fear that should be profusely and openly discussed everywhere. The fear and discomfort people will feel in these conversations is also a good thing because in most people it will result in some actions being taken once again to remove the fear. This is not something we can ignore. Climate destabilization is a real and accurate fear containing such a magnitude of looming destruction and suffering that if we do nothing, then going through the 5 steps of grief once you really get how bad it is --- is a normal, healthy, and necessary experience if we are going to make it though this threat to the whole planet.  

b.) Start and don't stop talking about climate destabilization being ultimately the greatest single threat to the current national security of all nations. This is because as the climate further destabilizes (due to human caused carbon pollution of the atmosphere,) first millions, then ten and then hundreds of millions of people (possibly even billions) will eventually have to migrate to new locations to survive as the climate destabilizes. Tell others that climate destabilization is the keystone security threat multiplier and amplifier of the 21st century until they get it! This is because climate destabilization can also whipsaw all of the following major global threats into each other, causing each individual threat to escalate and become more difficult to resolve. Those other global threats are: growing economic inequality and instability, overpopulation, food and resource depletion, increasing droughts, floods and wildfires, peak oil, water pollution and water table loss, desertification and deforestation, ocean fish stock depletions, war, pandemic, poverty, and political injustice and growing political instability. Think of it this way --- the many consequences of climate destabilization throws highly explosive aviation fuel and a lighted blow torch onto a tinderbox of already highly flammable national and international security threat materials.

Divest out of all of your personal investments in the fossil fuel industry then do everything within your zone of influence to convince others to do the same. Convince other individuals, businesses, pension funds, endowments and national governments to also divest out of all of their investments in the dying fossil fuel industry as soon as possible. Why?

The following section on Job One essential preparedness can seem a little scary if one is not seeing it from a larger perspective. There are a few key points to remember about being prepared and preparedness in general:

1.) Being prepared for emergencies, catastrophic mistakes and future uncertainties by creating emergency plans, physical reserves and back up system resilience is as old as humanity itself. Being physically and psychologically prepared for emergencies is the original (and still most basic) form of insurance long before we ever knew what insurance company was.

2.) Being prepared for the worst while working for the best is not apocryphal survivalism. Click here for more information on this.

3.) Being prepared is also an integral and essential part of any Sustainable Prosperity program.

4.) Emergency relief history has proven time and time again that you will not have the resources or time to create your emergency recovery program in an actual emergency or a catastrophe. We have see too many news stories  of the horrors of surviving hurricane Katrina or other disasters by the unprepared. Everything that you will need will be long gone off the shelves, not working or unavailable as everyone else who also wasn't prepared for the emergency madly and desperately struggles to quickly find what they need to survive. If you're not prepared ahead of time, you're out of luck. Emergency relief history has also shown that people will initially share their resources and be kind up until the point that they realize that essential life-sustaining resources are scarce. Then they become not so moral and not so nice in survival mode.

5.) The smartest nations, businesses and individuals (particularly wealthy individuals) already have elaborate, deep and detailed emergency preparation supplies and strategies in place, secure and ready to go. 

6.) Being unprepared for evolution’s natural periods of emergency, catastrophic mistakes or disasters or other normal uncertainties is not just being inappropriately optimistic, it's being dangerously unrealistic. Human history is littered with an endless chain of the corpses of economic, social and political collapses and catastrophes that our smartest ancestors were prepared for and our not so smart ancestors weren’t. Your gene pool is probably here today in significant part because your smart ancestors were to some degree prepared enough to make it through our past collapse catastrophe filled history.

7.) Preparedness as recommended in the Job One Plan is never wasted because there are many different non-climate emergencies and potential catastrophes sitting out in our future. 8.) The essence of the Job One Plan is not only to ensure that individuals forwarding sustainability strategies survive any emergencies and catastrophes because of escalating climate destabilization, these preparation steps are also designed to ensure that you will also thrive after any climate catastrophe or other major global emergency.

How to Start Gradually Preparing Your Family, Children, Business and Community for Adapting to Escalating Climate Destabilization:

There is absolutely no guarantee that humanity will collectively respond in time to irreversible or extinction level catastrophic climate destabilization successfully. If fact, because we have not yet reached the 1/4 to 1/2 trillion dollar climate calamity level yet and there is not enough global climate destabilization understanding, population and government solution consensus, and enforceable international laws with too little time to make AND ADAPT to too large of global energy supply system changes. Consequently, there is a good to high probability that we will pass through and beyond the most critical climate destabilization tipping points to an 8- 12 degree F increase in average global temperature world!

Many wise individuals could argue historically, rationally and convincingly that humanity will not respond to this growing climate crisis until it is simply too late or until the suffering and pain of climate destabilization is so horribly severe that many of us will simply not make it to enjoy its eventual solution. History is overflowing with examples of individuals, businesses and nations that seldom change their behavior until the pain of going forward with the needed changes is much less than the pain of staying where they are.

In biology it is common knowledge that 99.999 percent of every species that has ever lived on earth has also gone extinct. These long and shorter historic patterns also imply that the global and national suffering from Climate Destabilization will have to become much, much worse before the collective motivation and demand to change it will occur --- and once again, by that time we may have already crossed the critical tipping points condemning humanity to hundreds if not thousands of years of suffering, death, social, economic and political instability or even extinction.

Additionally, no government or charity will be able to respond to the ever-increasing demand for more emergency resources and services as the costs and other consequences of catastrophic climate destabilization increase in frequency, scale and severity with each degree of temperature increase. In the future individuals and businesses will need to have their own emergency plans and resources already in place or they will be like many of the hurricane Sandy victims waiting endlessly without power, heat, food and medicines until someone finally found them and helped them.

The basic wisdom of this Plan B Step of "Gradually Get Prepared for Climate Destabilization" of the Job One for Humanity plan is simple. First, because it does not look like we will make the massive energy system, international law and lifestyle changes in time it is wise to gradually start prepare "you and yours" for the worst. Then forget about those preparations and work your butt off to create the best possible outcomes in this toughest of all tests for human evolution.

Time Frames:

If you live in a northern country in the northern hemisphere, in 15-30 years you will be experiencing real super storms and not just the extreme weather that we have now. Here is what you can do to create your "Plan B" now so that you can care for yourself and help build greater resilience into our needed systems:

A.) Find ways to really enjoy your life now. Take "one day at a time" in spite of the continually worsening conditions! You will need psychological and emotional resilience. Take time to do and experience things you may have delayed. Take time for cultivating and enjoying your relationships. Things may be the best right now that they will ever be for quite a while (as we move into worsening climate destabilization and the havoc it will wreck on all of our global ecological, economic, political and social systems possibly for hundreds to thousands of years.)

The importance of taking one day at a time and doing whatever you can do each day to contribute anything toward the solution of climate destabilization is in part because the scope of the task before us is near overwhelming. If one really understands the scope of how much has to change in major and significant ways in our lifestyles and livelihoods and systems on a global basis in a very small amount of time one can get overwhelmed very quickly and despair. If one forgets that in all of the past 5 global extinction events in Earth's history there was always survivors, it is also easy to despair.

This is why the "one day at a time" and "enjoy your life now" attitude and focus is so important. Also keep hope in mind because we can build a new future --- better than was ever possible before --- once we come through this great challenge! 

Some sustainability advocates who have extensively studied the scope of our climate destabilization challenge have found themselves having to use the tools of the 5 stages of death to finally help get themselves out of the deep existential species despair and fear they often fall into. When the finally get through the steps to acceptance they can once again enjoy their lives each day while taking one day and a time and continuing to make whatever daily contribution they can make to help mitigate the extinction level challenge we all face. Also do not be seduced into polarizing the situation into an "us versus them" battle like environmentalists vs the fossil fuel industry, business vs the commonwealth or, rich vs poor. Do not make out those who do not understand the incredibly complex climate situation into bad or evil people.

We are one humanity in one universe and we are dealing with simple ignorance, the ultimately ignorant self-interest of a selfish few and the current collective highest state of human evolution on this planet. The best way to keep from polarizing the challenge with all of polarization's tensions of opposing forces and ideas is to also read, understand and use the Universe Principles of Right Attitude. They are an important part of the Universe Principles of Sustainability and the winning perspectives that will help survivors and their children enjoy their lives as much as is possible in the moment and still eventually get through the mess of escalating climate destabilization.

B: Start building up your stores of the necessary personal, community and national climate emergency supplies. Build physical resilience. While we still have time before the next climate destabilization wave, because of the information in the before mentioned state of the climate summary practical wisdom indicates that one should first prepare one's family, business and nation for the anticipated increasing disruptions in resource supply and resource distribution as well as the economic, social and political turmoil that will eventually result as catastrophic climate destabilization steadily worsens.

This means building more resilience into your existing personal, community and national systems to hope to survive escalating climate destabilization until we manage it. To add personal resilience create at least a 30-day reserve supply (60-90 days would be much better as things get worse,) of all necessary survival commodities (food, water, heat, energy, lights, communication devices, medicines, self defense etc,) and create a family, business and community catastrophic climate destabilization crisis mobility and migration to a safer place plan. Do this now so that you and your loved ones will not be trapped, suffer unnecessarily or be unprepared as climate destabilization continues to worsen in scale, severity and frequency before it hopefully starts getting fixed.

At the community, business and national level building more resilience means building emergency and non-emergency reserves for the many consequence faces of escalating climate destabilization. Additionally communities and states need to start planning now for how building and zoning codes must evolve to lessen and adapt to the effects of climate destabilization. Part of this preparation step at the community and national level is to give the population far more information on local and projected climate tipping point time tables and expected consequences as well and more information on escalating adaption strategies. Without carefully planned resilience and backups built into every level of our interconnected and interdependent essential systems there will be far too much unnecessary suffering. C.) Start gradually creating a 5% -10% cash reserve. Build your personal energy storage resilience. As catastrophic climate destabilization worsens towards irreversible or extinction level climate destabilization hundreds of millions of people (eventually billions if the most critical climate tipping points are crossed,) will also need to and begin to migrate closer toward the poles to eat and live. No current government, charity or corporation is even remotely prepared for these massive human migrations and the unbearable economic, political and social crisis and stresses that they will cause at every systemic level of our planetary existence. So, you personally must be individually responsible and prepare for these things well in advance for both yourself and your community. This minimal 5%- 10% personal and community cash reserve will help you cope with the many unexpected and unpredictable consequences as our local systems begin collapsing and you must adapt quickly or move.

To survive what is coming if we remain on our current course, all communities and governments will immediately need to work up to putting at least 5% -10 % of their total GDP into reserves each year if they hope to stay politically and financially stable while coping with the rapidly escalating costs of catastrophic climate destabilization. (See Stern Review 5% of GDP climate destabilization cost estimates.) Because no community or government will be able to keep up with the continually rising costs of climate destabilization, businesses must also create similar 5%- 10% reserves to help them cope with all the anticipated supply, manufacturing, distribution and labor disruptions. (If you are a individual, business, community or nation loaded with debt, we strongly recommend that you also reduce that debt as soon and as much as possible. Having lots of debt in a crisis is likely to make you or your organization far less adaptable. What is most needed will be high liquidity and flexibility.)  

Individual families must also create the same 5%-10%  emergency reserves for the same reasons and particularly if those families are in a river or lake flood plain, near a coast, in a wild fire or drought zone or in known severe storm areas. Rebuilding, repair, dramatically increasing food and insurance costs, emergency housing, temporary or permanent emergency transportation or migration costs out of crisis zones, losses in real estate and farmland values, etc, will rapidly consume these survival-essential 5% -10% reserves as the climate passes through new critical tipping points.  (If you have trouble saving money get the book, "Your Money or Your Life.")

D.) Individuals, businesses, communities and nations start planning on how you will adapt and/or move your resources and infrastructure to compensate for the rising temperatures and the floods, droughts, wildfires, new diseases, insect infestations, growing season changes and distortions and severe storm, rain and weather pattern changes that will occur with increased frequency and at increased severity and scale.

Business planners, city Planners and long term planners of all kinds need to begin immediately using the least optimistic best predictions that we have on how the climate destabilization will unfold. The amount of adaption work needed to be done and the small amount of time relevant to difficulty of the changes needed to be made makes this step a logistical imperative. 

E.) At some point start working on your long term 20-60 year family, business and national infrastructure and community emergency migration plan.

At the worse climate destabilization projections of an average temperature increases of 12 degrees Fahrenheit long-term, multi-generational migration planning is a must. You can stagger this migration plan to meet the speed of the global temperature increases, sea rise and the increase in severity, scale and frequency of consequences as they occur in your particular area. Generally, in the northern hemisphere it will be 15- 30 years from 2015 before most individuals will experience significantly worst climate destabilization catastrophes. During that time you will still experience increasingly frequent, smaller scale climate-related droughts, wildfires, freak storms and other unusual weather crisis.

The good news here is that --- you have about 15-30 yrs of cushion to build a climate destabilization survival reserve and to increase your community’s emergency recovery resilience. You also have more time to enjoy as much of the non-weather crisis influenced aspects of life as is possible.

F.) The Special Migration Situation of Those Currently Under 30 or Having a Family:

If you are under 30 and you and your family want to survive in relative peace, you will want to have a detailed migration plan for when to move north well before the worst of climate destabilization hits. If you are over 30 without a family or, if you are older than 50, you may feel that because of your shorter life expectancy and where you are at in your life cycle migration is not an option no madder how bad it gets.

Migration is a personal decision no matter what age you are. If you are going to consider migration, here is some additional helpful things to consider.

Countries like Canada, Scandinavia, Russia, Iceland, Greenland, England, New Zealand and the tip of South America and Alaska will most likely experience a warmer and longer growing season and improved weather conditions in the early stages of climate destabilization. As climate destabilization escalates these countries and locations will most likely become the new world's richest and more powerful countries because of their climate safer locations and new warmer climates. These countries will also likely form special new military alliances that will insure that the current super-powers or other climate-crisis emboldened nations will not be able to take their land and sovereignty.

If you are under 30 the good news is that you still have time to migrate before:

a.) the safer northern countries (or other luckily positioned areas,) charge millions per person to migrate legally,

b.) land prices skyrocket or,

c.) otherwise restrict or completely close their borders to the escalating masses of new climate refugees.

Trying to migrate north during the worst of the climate destabilization crisis is a migration plan doomed to fail!

Before you consider where moving north be sure to also carefully study the newest super-computer climate destabilization weather models at global, national and local levels. You will need to be certain that the rain/water and growing season will be adequate in your new area or nation. You will also need to consider issues like wildfires, flood plains of rivers and lakes as well as how defendable and safe your new location or nation will be as millions of desperate climate migrants also seek safety in the later stages of climate destabilization. If you are considering migrating out of your home country, you will need to evaluate how your new country will receive, treat or protect you as a new migrant. In many countries migrants are often treated as second class citizens.

The above actions are also things most under your direct control and influence and not someone else's! Do these things and build some momentum to use in the later tougher steps. Unfortunately, individuals must prepare locally because it is also not very likely that the 1% of the power elites on the planet who hold the real power to make the needed decisions, new laws and order needed resources to the climate destabilization problem will likely do so in time. This is ironic and paradoxical because in the bitter end --- they will be the ones who will lose the most.

The Big Key Take-Away from Part 1, Step 4 of the Job One Plan:

Ignore getting prepared for escalating climate destabilization at your, your family's, your businesses's and your nation's peril! If you are not prepared, you may not be a part of the solution and, your personal non-preparedness will most likely just make the collective challenge worse.

With the completion of the previous Job One Part Four, Step 4b Getting Prepared also has to come a rather harsh dose of reality. Unfortunately, we cannot resolve climate destabilization just by our personal best direct actions to reduce our carbon and methane use alone.

All of our personal efforts to cut carbon, methane and other greenhouse gas emissions and live more sustainably will simply not be enough to completely stop climate destabilization in time to avert the levels of catastrophic, irreversible or extinction level climate destabilization unless --- the other collective actions of Job One for Humanity Parts (2 and 3) are also accomplished quickly!

While you can and should always feel personally proud about your personal carbon and methane reduction actions to lessen and slow climate destabilization, do not ever be deceived into believing that these individual actions alone (optional sections 4c-4e to follow) will save us --- even when done by millions. To be successful and avoid the climate cliff, we have to immediately and drastically reduce all fossil fuel use. We have to immediately change the way we generate our large-scale energy away from dirty coal-fired electric plants and other fossil fuel mass energy generation over to green and renewable large-scale energy generation!

Do not lose sight of the fact that individual actions to reduce one's personal fossil fuel use do matter in that:

a.) you are living in congruity with your beliefs,

(There is so much bad news and so many defeats or delays in this work that doing things that make you feeling good is not a luxury! It is a mission necessity or the work will wear your down!)

b.) You are not making things worse.,  

c.) You are honoring our special relationship for stewarding nature to the best of our abilities.

d.) You are feeding and building a success momentum of actions that is needed to sustain your efforts over time.

e.) You are building a Sustainable Prosperity future.

f.) You will be living in harmony with the 5,000 Year Reduce, Recycle and Reuse Sustainability Principle.

There are two quick, but very big reasons for paying attention to the 5,000 Year Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse Sustainability Principle:

First, there is the finiteness of Earth's resources. Everything that everyone will need who will live on Earth over the next 5,000 years will have to be found primarily only on Earth itself according to our scientists. This is because moving to live on the closest possible potentially inhabitable planet with new needed resources for human life would take a space fight of 5,000 years --- even if we could increase the speed of current space fight by 100 times. Bringing resources back to Earth from closer uninhabitable planets would be both technically and economically unfeasible in the quantities that we will need key depleting resources --- if we do not preserve them now!

Secondly, there is the peak oil challenge and the many transportation, agriculture and other major changes it will bring in the near future. Let's face it: Earth with its current limited resources is all we have to realistically live upon for the greatest mass of our population for the next 5,000 years --- we have no other choice but to reduce, recycle, and reuse! The Big Take Away On Personal Action Steps

It is important to keep in mind that the personal action steps (found mostly in Part One of the Job One Plan) can truly slow and lesson some of the negative effects of climate destabilization. But, never forget that your personal actions alone cannot save us in time from the worst outcomes of climate destabilization or going over the climate cliff —- even if lots and lots of us are doing most the long term personal action steps (optional sections 4c-4e) of Part One of the Job One Plan.

Only by fixing the deep structural and systemic causes of global warming and climate destabilization at their roots will we prevent going over the climate cliff into either irreversible or, extinction level climate destabilization. (These fixing steps are found in Parts two, three and four of the Job One Plan.)

Only immediate and mass collective action following the recommendations in Parts Two, Three and Four of the Job One Plan has any honest chance of:

a.) Creating the climate crisis awareness in politicians and policymakers necessary to make the urgent structural and systemic changes needed in time at both national and global levels.

b.) Creating public awareness and then the public will force politicians to act.  

If we do not do these collective actions effectively and very fast, we and future generations will most certainly experience global disaster and destabilization at a scale that has never been occurred in all of human history. Keep this very hard and difficult reality in mind as you prioritize your climate restabilization actions between the optional personal actions of (Part 1 of Job One sections 4c-4e) and "must do" critical path collective actions of (Part 2 and Part 3 of Job One.)

The Prioritized List for Lowering Your Fossil Fuel Use and Eco-footprint.

On the following pages (4c-4g) you will find the most important personal actions and strategies actions to reduce your carbon and methane pollution and your eco-footprint prioritized from the greatest to least immediate effectiveness for restabilizing the climate. These are also steps derived from the principles of Sustainable Prosperity practices and that almost all of us will be forced to do in our lives in the later stages of climate destabilization!

Critical Path Optional Step 1: The single most effective personal change you can make in reducing your personal carbon and methane pollution:

Eat less animal meat and dairy products. The global agribusiness (the cattle, pigs chickens, fish, etc. industry) is probably THE single leading cause of global warming and climate destabilization when its total climate polluting greenhouse gas emission effects are taken into effect. One study has estimated global agribusiness responsible for 51% of all global warming caused by greenhouse gas emissions. (The total fossil fuel industry is estimated to be responsible for 40% of all carbon and methane greenhouse gas emissions.)

In fact, eating less animal meat and dairy products now appears to be the single most effective individual thing that you can do personally to directly make a real difference that matters in reducing total carbon and methane fossil fuel pollution! Eating no animal or dairy products is more effective by many, many times than by doing any one of the other individual eco-footprint lowering activities listed below and it may even be more effective than even if all other eco-footprint lowering activities listed below are taken as a whole.

Significantly reducing or eliminating all animal and dairy products from your diet is also important in Job One because it IS something within your zone of influence right now that has both a maximized effectiveness and is within your control. If you want to do something truly effective to dramatically reduce your personal greenhouse gas emissions that is many times more effective than all of other individual eco-footprint lowering activities listed below, we strongly also recommend you also get the book Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Furhman. In it, you will not only learn about how to have a wonderful tasty diet that will help save the planet from climate destabilization, you will also learn how this new diet will help you become far healthier, look better, and live longer than you ever dreamed possible.

If you cannot become a full vegetarian or vegan, at least start a program of eating less animal and dairy products. At least try to reduce your animal and dairy dietary intake to 20% or less of what you are eating now within 6 months or less. You will save money and, according to most studies, you will become far healthier, Once you hit that target, keep reducing by another 20% less over the next 3 months and continue until you are either animal and dairy products free or eating very little of them.

Important Tips For Applying The Above and Following Direct Personal Actions Of The Job One Plan

In the above and following recommendations concerning what you personally can do to forward the Job One plan, it is important to keep in mind a few simple principles to keep it real. The first principle is that “nothing in life is perfect or 100%. Everything is continually in process and evolving.

Do not drive yourself crazy trying to do each step of the Job One personal actions perfectly. For example, after seeing the Cowspiracy documentary one of our staff members immediately became vegan. This was because they saw becoming a vegan as the most effective thing they personally could do to reduce climate destabilization.

This individual was a lifelong animal and dairy product consumer. They are now still a practicing vegan, but in truth there are times that they have a small amounts of meat, fish, or dairy.

By being a less than a 100% perfect vegan they have reduced their total animal and dairy product consumption by 85 to 90% and have maintained that level of reduction.  That is a huge improvement and a massive reduction in agribusiness related carbon and methane going into the environment from just one person’s personal actions.

So, be kind to yourself. You will not do anything perfectly even if you try.

The second principle is that “making trade-offs is natural, good, and necessary.” It also is derived a bit from the first principle above.

What we mean by making trade-offs is natural, good, and necessary is that you will want to be flexible in how you work towards applying all of the recommended personal actions. There will without a doubt be some areas of your life that you will want to at least temporarily maintain a bit of pleasure and enjoyment while you are dramatically improving the sustainability of your lifestyle and livelihood in other areas. As a good example of this, another staff member has been highly diligent following almost all of the steps of the Job One Plan except that they have made a conscious and intentional choice to keep their high-performance sports car and not go to electric or hybrid for their day-to-day transportation.

Their logic on this was that they are making so many improvements and sacrifices in so many other sustainability areas that they did not want to become a climate or sustainability martyr and not maintain some essential transitional pleasures and joys in their life that would help keep them happy and sane and staying on their sustainability and Job One programs.

This person also absolutely loves driving. To them driving should be immensely pleasurable so that you "enjoy the journey" not just the destination. This individual also believes that this natural and necessary indulgence or "free pass" was an acceptable trade-off because not only were they at high levels of sustainability and Job One success in other program areas, this high-performance sports car also was one of the highest mileage, lowest emission cars in its class and, in lower emissions it was comparable to vehicles at or just slightly above the hybrid car category.

So, please give yourself and others a break in making negative judgments about others making necessary trade-offs in keeping some flexibility with their creative personal Job One program. Please do keep in mind the above two above principles as you begin in acting the various personal action steps of the Job One Plan.

Critical Path Optional Step Two: Follow the slogan reduce, recycle and reuse wherever you can.

If you can, walk or ride a bicycle or take public transportation instead of driving. If you drive, consider a hybrid, electric, or other higher mileage car that has low emissions for your next vehicle.

Shop locally and/or grow your own food. Each day, stay aware of what can you do today to reduce your carbon and methane pollution of the environment, but always keep in mind that reducing the animal and dairy products in your diet is your greatest single personal way to reduce your carbon footprint by far, far more than other options. Critical Path Optional Step Three: Even if you don't own your own home or business there is still something you can do here to forward national security and be a real patriot. You can convince those who you are renting from or you work for that converting to green energy as quickly as possible is the smart and patriotic thing to do for cost reduction, emergency preparedness, national security, restabilizing the climate and environment as well as the future.

Green energy generation can be solar, wind, hydro-electric, or some other alternative green or much greener form of energy generation than fossil fuels. Today the reasons for going to green energy generation in our homes and businesses now are stronger than ever.

1.) Going to green energy as soon as possible is also a patriotic duty and national security imperative. Both the US and many countries in the world currently get much of their polluting fossil fuel energy supplies from areas of the world that are high conflict zones where our energy supplies could be cut off, radically lessened, or priced so high that these changes would destabilize the productivity and stability of countries in any way dependent upon importing those fossil fuels. Additionally, nations that import these fossil fuels from the high conflict areas they are currently found in find themselves dragged into expensive and unwinnable conflicts in those fossil fuel producing areas. These high conflict fossil fuel producing zones are also prime sources exporting terrorism back out to the very parts of the world to which they seller fossil fuels.

When you convert your home or business to green energy systems you are making a powerful move to help build your national security and you are acting as a true patriot! You are taking power and the current security threats away from the fossil fuel producing areas and returning that power and security to your own nation. A nation with decentralized green energy systems in use by most of its population is no longer dependent upon or held hostage by the fossil fuel producers from the high conflict areas. Additionally, not having to send our military forces into these areas to protect our fossil fuel supplies and economic stability will also save tremendous taxpayer costs to our national budgets and these monumental savings can then be better used in other areas.

2.) Green energy generation makes good economic sense by saving you money over the long-term. Today many individuals and businesses are not converting to green energy because they are sustainability advocates or save the climate from global warming, they are going green purely to save money.

3.) Green energy generation has become cheaper than ever due to the increasing number of people converting over. This increase in demand has created vast improvements in both manufacturing and installing green energy in your home or business.

4.) Green energy has come of age to such a degree that it is increasingly easier to finance large and small green energy home and business installations. Soon it will be no more difficult to get financing to go green than it will be to get financing to get a new car.

5.) Green energy generation is still subsidized in many areas with either direct subsidy payments or tax deductibility.

6.) Homes and businesses that are operating on green energy are far more prepared for any kind of emergency that would affect their current power systems and productivity. Having homes and businesses operating on decentralized green energy creates a high-level of emergency reserves and quick recovery resilience at both the local and national levels to any kind of emergency that would affect our existing centralized energy generation.

7.) Energy is power. When you go to green energy generation you decentralize power away from large utilities and energy corporations and you bring real power and independence back into the hands of average citizens and small businesses.

Moving to decentralized green energy generation in homes and businesses across the world makes sense on so many levels. It is what is within your current “zone of influence” to dramatically lower polluting carbon and methane greenhouse gases choking our atmosphere.

Home And Business Energy Energy Conservation

Once you have stopped adding to the carbon and methane pollution problem with your current fossil fuel use by going green you can then look at the issue of home and business energy conservation. Home and business energy conservation is simply finding those places where your home our business is leaking or using existing energy inefficiently.

There are many subsidies and tax incentives for home and business energy conservation already. But, do not put the cart in front of the horse.

To prevent going over the climate destabilization cliff first we need to stop making the problem worse. We need to urgently stop adding any additional carbon and methane pollution into the atmosphere from fossil fuels. Switching to decentralized green energy generation on a widespread basis will be a more cost-effective, time effective, and successful strategy than trying to fix the much smaller energy loss inefficiencies of homes and businesses everywhere.

The Big Key Take-away from the 5 Sub Steps of Part 1, Step 4 of the Job One Plan:

If you are able to do none of the four previously mentioned personal direct action steps to reduce carbon and methane pollution, and lower your eco-footprint, at least eat dramatically less animal meat and dairy products. It is by far the single most effective personal thing that you can do to directly lessen climate destabilization and maintain the future for generations to come! While these critical path, optional personal action steps (4c-4e) directly lower your personal carbon and methane eco-footprint and will help lesson and slow climate destabilization, they will not resolve it in time to save us from the escalating climate catastrophe. Do these critical path, optional personal actions step-by-step in the background as you move onto the mission-critical collective action steps of Parts 2 and Part 3 of the Job One Plan. It would be a serious critical path prioritization error to spend so much time and effort forwarding these optional personal action steps at the expense of the more important collective actions that we need to take to save the future from escalating climate destabilization in time.

If you are of a spiritual nature, it is important for you to find additional support and motivation from your faith to help you forward the Job One goals. Spiritual based motivations are among the strongest and most persistent of all human motivations.

In this great transformational, evolutionary adventure we all face the same tremendous adaptive challenge in reversing and resolving escalating climate destabilization. We absolutely need to use every bit of support and every motivational resource that we can find or have available if we ever hope to overcome this urgent global challenge before us.

We also need to engage the amazing leverage of members of all of the other faith communities of the world to help resolve this immediate threat and daunting challenge to all faiths of the planet. Unless the major religions and their leaders get on this collective evolution of temporary, but necessary spiritual re-focusing on the Job One or similar programs fast there may eventually be few places left safe for them to do their regular spiritual programs with their members.

Do not forget that late-stage escalating catastrophic climate destabilization will also destabilize the resources and organizational structures of the world's religions just when they are most needed to help their members deal with the extreme environmental, social, political, and economic destabilization that will occur around them as more and more critical climate tipping points are passed.

If left unresolved, what is coming with increasing climate destabilization is so bad that you will not be able to survive this alone very well. It is not unreasonable to believe that only those that are part of a prepared and mutually supporting and cooperating community are likely to make it into the later stages of irreversible or extinction level climate destabilization and have any kind of a life that still has humor, balance, happiness, and cooperative trusting relationships in it!

In the initial worsening conditions of climate destabilization, these specialized communities will also be geared to helping you find ways to still enjoy your life and take the time to cultivate and enjoy relationships. This is because the rewards and joys of the inner life as well as community life may be the most available remaining pleasures because of the worsening outside physical climate conditions. We call these new self-organizing, specialized climate destabilization mutual support communities, Universe Communities or Job One for Humanity Communities. Real community takes time and mutual commitments to build, so be patient and keep working at this while you are doing the other three major parts of the Job One for Humanity plan. In the previous and following sections of the Job One Plan you are being informed about needed evolutionary adaptations in your local life to deal with the realities of climate destabilization. Once one better understands all of the local and global adaptations that will be required of us as individuals, businesses, communities, and nations, the task then becomes how to accommodate these adaptive improvements into our lives.

What being on the Job One team will ask of you:

1.) not to drop all of the other good things that you are doing in your lives locally to exclusively work on the bigger picture of climate re-stabilization. What we do ask you to do instead is to continue  the good that you are doing in your current local life projects and social activism.

2.) to be honest with yourself about the scope and scale of the difficulty of the adaptive challenge before us both as individuals and collectively as humanity. Like all good and honest things in life, Job One success will take effort, persistence, and sacrifice. Right now it is an "uphill" challenge. And, most likely, you are not likely to get a lot of praise or support from many people you know for doing the right thing. If you are realistic about the many difficulties of the great adaptive challenge and transformational evolutionary adventure before you, the good news is that you will be more effective and --- you will not quit when the going gets tough, as it surely will.

3.) to see climate destabilization as a first things first meta-challenge and multiplier of  all of our other major current global challenges. What this means is that while you are continuing whatever great local life projects and social activism that you are currently doing, you also add-on as the central hub of all these other activities the focal priority of also doing your best to also help forward the Job One for Humanity Climate Re-Stabilization Plan.

If we fail to succeed in lessening and eventually resolving escalating climate destabilization, all of our local life projects and social activism will be greatly destabilized and probably no longer function at all. This is because if the climate fully destabilizes at the big picture global level it will eventually destabilize all of the other major systems on "game board" Earth. This WILL destabilize our local systems and all of life's normal activities of life we take for granted.

Take some time right now to imagine and plan how you will do this "bigger picture" life-critical re-prioritization and make time for Job One.

Let Natural Evolutionary Self-Interest Drive the Process:

For either individuals or groups, there appears to be nothing better in evolution for motivating changes than self-interest. This core evolutionary truth means that each of us needs to be highly creative in convincing the fossil fuel industry that it is fully and ultimately in their self interest to to begin converting their existing business models into the new green energy generation business models. There are many educational and non-educational ways to do this depending on how hard it is to get it through to the fossil fuel industry that "other than temporarily for the military and space travel fossil fuels are an energy dead end business model for the future." We can collectively:

1.) offer generous financial incentives to help the fossil fuel industry make the challenging transition to green energy generation more smoothly. (In the long run lots of generous financial incentives would be far cheaper that fighting this industry and then have to pay later for the additional climate destabilization caused by the delays in getting this industry to see the light of change.)

2.) bring class action lawsuits against the members of the fossil fuel industry and make them pay for all of the damage and cleanup costs directly that their pollutants are causing. (This is kind of a negative incentive, but still an incentive and, it will keep you as a taxpayer from having to have to pay these additional costs yourself.) and,

3.) use your best creative ideas and programs.

There are many areas of the Job One Plan where we will have to be very creative and never forget that the best, fastest and easiest way to get the Job One Plan steps done is to always appeal first to the long term financial self-interests of the fossil fuel industry and those who do their bidding (lobbyists, politicians, media, etc.) Self-interest is one of (if not THE) main driving force in living things and systems.

The Job One Plan, Part One Summary and Conclusion:

The "Act Locally and Get Prepared" steps (1-8) of Part One the of Job One for Humanity plan are also wise because we have to first preserve and sustain those individuals and organizations most aware and active in this new common safety through climate re-stabilization movement. They are the ones who are already leading the way in saving all of us from all the devastating climate destabilization consequences that are coming if left unmitigated. Only by first "preparing for the worst" are we then able to "forget" our emergency preparations and then focus fully on working to create the best of possible climate re-stabilization outcomes. To do otherwise would be to put the "cart in front of the horse" and to betray our protection obligations to both ourselves and those who depend upon us.

These Step One strategies are also wise because as unfortunate as it is, we will not likely be able to do much to forward the most effective action steps of the Job One for Humanity in Parts 2 and 3 until much more personal, business, and national pain is felt in the escalating climate destabilization crisis. It is this collective pain which will most likely cause/force us to finally be ready to learn new things, to be ready to change positions, and finally to be able to make the fully effective "first things first" critical path changes needed.

Until we actually correct the escalating climate destabilization by successfully doing the key Job One for Humanity Parts (2 and 3,) things will most probably continue to get worse in our global economic, political, social and environmental systems --- so be prepared by getting prepared locally first!

The Part One steps above are also the ones that you most likely can do or influence. This will also help you build some success momentum. You will need every bit of this success momentum as you begin to face the much tougher collective actions found in Job One for Humanity Parts 2, 3 and 4.

Introduction to Part 2 of the Job One Plan: The Collective Practical Actions We Need to Take

"Unfortunately not all climate re-stabilization actions are equal. Some personal actions will only contribute a bit to either slowing down, or lessening, the suffering of escalating climate destabilization. They will not stop us from going over the climate cliff into irreversible climate destabilization chaos.

Other key collective climate re-stabilization actions will keep us from going off the climate cliff. If we are going to save the planet, and humanity, from escalating climate destabilization, we have to be ruthlessly honest with ourselves and each other about which climate re-stabilization actions are the critical, "first things first", properly sequenced actions that we must take now. If we are not ruthlessly honest, we will lose this battle.

We do not have enough resources in the climate re-stabilization movement to divert any of them from the most time-critical, and effective, steps. We can never take comfort in the false belief that climate re-stabilization actions, which merely slow down or lessen the damage and suffering, are a real solution to the problem of a climate that is rapidly moving toward irreversibly destabilizing, and leading to the possible extinction of the human species." Part 2 of the Job One Plan contains the three most effective and,unfortunately, the most difficult collective action tasks that we need to complete soon, if we are going to be successful in adequately managing escalating climate destabilization in time so that we do not go off the climate cliff into irreversible climate destabilization and global chaos. These are the most important meta-solution steps of the Job One Plan. The "first things first" true critical path interrelationships between the three steps in the following Part 2 of Job One will become clearer to you after you have had a chance to read all three of these meta-effective climate destabilization threat-ending steps.

For most people, the personal actions found in Part 1 of the Job One Plan is the main area of achievable direct personal results within their zones of influence. The more complex, and challenging collective actions found within Part 2 of Job One in steps One, Two and Step Three will definitely be far more challenging to steward to completion. As far as effective climate destabilization solutions go Part 2 of Job One Plan is by far the most important part of Job One for Humanity.

Part 2, Step 1 of the Job One Plan: Researching the Most Critical Climate Tipping Points

Well researched climate tipping point information is critical to educating the empowered decision makers of the world for two reasons:

a) It is critical education on the immediacy and severity of the climate destabilization crisis; and

b) It is vital for the creation of a truly effective and "first things first” carbon pollution reduction and recovery plan.

Individually, and collectively, we need to demand government and corporate funding for additional scientific research on the many, as yet unknown, critical climate tipping points. We need to demand that this research is done now to improve the accuracy and reliability of current climate predictions for consequence sequences, timetables, and the changing locations of the escalating climate destabilization (CCD.)

Without accurately knowing when and what these many critical climate tipping points are, it is impossible to educate the world about the factual immediacy and severity of this crisis, or to create the most appropriate and effective plan to prevent or mitigate both catastrophic climate destabilization and irreversible climate destabilization.

If necessary, we should spend up to a trillion dollars on researching the missing climate tipping point information, to save hundreds of trillions of dollars later. This is because nothing else will affect the near and long-term national security of nations in a more certain, serious, and escalating way than our rapidly increasing climate destabilization.

There is little hope that humanity will act in a cooperative way, and at the scale and speed needed, with laws and enforcement unless the facts surrounding the times and locations of the catastrophic and irreversible climate destabilization tipping points are known, and the science behind them is rock solid. We cannot fly nearly blind when the stakes for the future of all of humanity may be the highest that they have ever been in human history! Either we pay a trillion now in global climate tipping point research, or we potentially pay everything later!

As described in more detail later in the Job one Plan, write letters, make phone calls, do whatever you can do to peacefully demand that your political representatives, intelligence agencies, governments, corporations and any and every organization that has access to satellites or supercomputers, immediately re-task and re-dedicate far more of their supercomputer time and resources to obtaining better, and more frequent climate-related measurements, to refine and upgrade the current research on climate destabilization tipping points, and computer models for climate destabilization. These climate tipping points must be measured, and predicted, much more accurately and far more regularly than is currently being done. Only then, after this data and these measurements are incorporated into upgrading existing climate destabilization scenario models will we have a more complete and accurate picture of the increasing scope, frequency, and the severity of the climate related consequences that we will ALL soon have to deal with.

Individuals, businesses, nations, and humanity as a whole have the absolute right to know in detail what's coming and when! Only with accurate climate tipping point knowledge can we  plan the best ways to prepare for, and adapt to, the predicted consequences of catastrophic climate destabilization. It is unconscionable, and irrational, to have the greatest single credible, and increasing, threat to humanity's total wellbeing and future since the nuclear cold war threat of the 1950's, as well as the single most important current task in all of human history, left without adequate scientific research, resources, or climate tipping point based advance preparation and planning. It is unconscionable, gross negligence, and some would even say treasonous, that our national intelligence and defense agencies, and key government preparedness and emergency planning departments, themselves still do not have the missing climate destabilization tipping point data described on this page.

"The greatest problem for the future of humanity is the, as yet, unknown critical tipping points involved in today's accelerating climate destabilization. Without discovering these soon, we could find ourselves facing irreversible climate destabilization, and complete, or near complete, extinction as a species without even knowing that we had already passed the critical tipping points of no return (or reasonable recovery) until far after we could do anything about it. No other human problem today matches the immediacy, destructive scope, and increasing probability of the climate destabilization challenge." Lawrence Wollersheim

Of all the remedial action steps in front of us to reverse CCD, this step is the second most important because without its accurate data we cannot continually create and develop the most effective, and dynamic, plan to reverse CCD. We can't even get reliable time frames and locations for when the worst will happen. For example, some predictions say it is already too late; others say that we will be shocked by how bad it is in 5 to-15 years time. Others predict it will get really bad around 2050, and others say it will be as late as 2100. The problem with all of these predictions is that they are using sketchy computer models that are missing lots of critical linear and nonlinear, complex climate system tipping point data.

It is time to unequivocally demand that the climate tipping point research is fully funded and completed on an emergency and national security priority basis. We are so far behind on this that we must complete it urgently if we are to effectively craft the best reversal plan before it is too late!

By the time we get around to fixing climate destabilization we may have passed the critical tipping point that would have allowed us to stop and reverse it before massive suffering and death occurs. That is a key climate tipping point paradox.

If the whole world was on board, we forget that it will take 25 to 35 years to change every energy generation system to green. Even if the whole world was on board, and had signed that policy into international law, there are also 40 to 60 plus years of carbon pollution momentum already in the climate from our past actions.

The Climate Tipping Point Paradoxes

Paradox 1: Current rising temperature timetable climate calculations, such as the UN's IPPC reports, do not generally contain any climate tipping point scenarios adequately, or incorporate them into those rising temperature timetable calculations scenarios. There are several reasons the UN Climate scientists of the IPPC have not created rising temperature timetable climate calculations including either a single climate tipping point or multiple climate tipping points occurring at once:

Currently, the intelligence agencies of the world's richest countries ,who are capable of doing only small parts of these climate tipping point calculation, are keeping the worst of their partial rising temperature timetable calculations highly classified. Keeping such critical information away from public awareness, and use, begs the question: why?

In fairness  It should be noted that the UN climate scientists do disclose all of their current rising temperature timetable calculations in their latest report, but omit almost all of the climate tipping point scenarios.  In numerous wonky nuanced footnotes, they describe what they call "fat tail events", and low probability high impact events that are not included or that could radically change their current calculations. What they do not do is provide true worse case rising temperature scenarios that include one or more climate tipping points, so that law and policy makers can see what could happen if we cross any major climate tipping point.   

Paradoxically, and to make things worse, the current UN IPPC climate report rising temperature timetable calculation scenarios are the non-tipping point incorporated calculations currently being used in the international global warming reduction treaty discussions. Unless key decision makers have all the accurate, complete, and relevant climate data, including the many climate tipping point scenarios, it is impossible for them to accurately evaluate the real risks, make and enforce the correct laws and policy decisions, on the proper timetables to avert global climate catastrophe and the possible extinction of most of humanity.

Paradox 2: We either act very, very fast as one humanity and fix this climate destabilization challenge with its current missing tipping points research, or we face the possibility that when we finally do act, we may be too late. If we are completely honest with ourselves at an even deeper level, we have to recognize the possibility that we have already crossed the critical climate system tipping points because we did not have adequate, unclassified, climate tipping point research being done by our governments and intelligence agencies advising us about the greatest single threat in human history to the future of humanity as a whole.  

"Catastrophic climate destabilization should be thought of in the same scope of potential global destructiveness as a massive asteroid on a direct and certain, but slowly arriving, collision course with Earth and which will arrive in anything from 15 to 85 years time. You certainly would not sit idle in that situation without demanding better information from your political leaders on more precise arrival dates, consequences, and the collision locations that will be most adversely affected. You certainly would start planning and making transition preparations for yourselves, your children, and your grandchildren. Why aren't we collectively demanding this same information now for the increasing catastrophic climate destabilization that we see escalating all around us, and that our leading climate scientists tell us is worsening rapidly?" The Human System Tipping Points for When Catastrophic Climate Destabilization will Be Finally Resolve

What are the key human systems tipping points that lead us to where we finally do what is needed to be done across the planet to save humanity's future? We believe there are three such human systems tipping points:

The first tipping point occurs when the multi-national corporations and the world's wealthiest people the 1% power elite, fully realize that it is not in their economic, and security, self-interests to have the existing economic, political and social systems destabilize, and 50 to 90 % of the world's population die or be in migratory chaos or crisis. Fossil fuels are estimated to produce about 40% of the global GDP and 24 trillion dollars a year in revenue. That suggests about 60% of the world's wealth, and multinational corporations, are not directly involved in the fossil fuels industrial complex. That means when those interests put their lobbyists and influence up against the lobbyists and influence of the remaining 40% of the fossil fuels multinationals, and wealth, we should finally get the new and enforceable international carbon pollution laws, and additional climate tipping point research funding, that are needed.  

The second tipping point is when the climate destabilization consequences are so severe, widespread, frequent and costly in resources and suffering that "the pain going forward is less than the pain of staying where we are." Human history has repeatedly demonstrated that this is when individuals, groups, and nations change and evolve.

Finally, we believe the climate stabilization changes needed will be made at the most critical general population level. That is when it is in the immediate self-interest of the general population to change old energy consumption habits, and conserve or transfer to new green energy systems. Only when the general population is immediately "paid" for converting to their new green lifestyles, either in the form of immediate energy cost savings or immediate "good practices" money payments from governments such as how the Fee and Dividend carbon reduction program works, will there be the sufficiently strong self-interest incentives to overcome habit and other resistance that keep the atmospheric carbon pollution machine going.

The overall problem in these two key human system tipping points is that there is a 50 to 100 to 1 chance, or less, that we must successfully pass through these human system tipping points before we have passed through the climate tipping points of irreversible climate destabilization, and are heading toward the tipping points of extinction level climate destabilization. The really scary question on these two human system tipping points is: will it be "too little too late" when they finally happen?

The Climate Destabilization Tipping Points Create a National and International Security Imperative

Irreversible, and extinction level, climate destabilization with its many remaining uncertain or unknown climate tipping points is the single greatest threat to national security and international political stability. It is imperative that both intelligence agencies and defense departments of all nations use substantial portions of their budgets and resources (supercomputers, satellites and analysts) to determine exactly when these climate tipping points will occur so that we can be prepared for these dangerous climate cliffs, avoid them, or be able to adapt to them because we have been given adequate advance warning by those entrusted to protect us.

Those nations who have this tipping point data will, with adequate notice, not only survive far better, but will also reap the economic rewards and have the stupendous military strategic planning and execution advantage that having this accurate advance warning information will bring. Having these tipping points in advance truly is "the world's most valuable information."

Furthermore, it is both unthinkable and unconscionable for the heads of any national intelligence agency or defense department to not already be able to provide this climate tipping point information to the politicians they answer to. If they can't provide this information soon, there is little doubt who will be blamed and shamed by both politicians and the public for not doing their assigned and patriotic duties of properly anticipating serious security threats, and managing them to protect the safety and future of the nation.

Special Note for the Tipping Point Research Funding Step

It is our belief that we may not get the consensus needed by powerful decision makers to create binding and enforceable international law on atmospheric carbon pollution control and reduction until the necessary missing tipping point science is done, and widely distributed to governments, intelligence and defense agencies, multinational corporations, and the general population.The IPPC's unenforceable recommendations for carbon reductions also failed horribly and time is running out to prevent irreversible and extinction level climate destabilization.

When these real power wielding, or motivating, groups see the timeframes, locations, and consequences in near irrefutable, rational, and accurate scientific detail, they will act quickly in their own self-interest for national, corporate, and private wealth survival. We are trying to be practical here in that 30 years of warnings by our best scientists, and the continuous actions by the most influential global environmental groups, has not slowed or stopped the increase of human caused release of carbon and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Carbon is now rising at an exponential level in spite of 30 years of global warnings. We believe a key reason for this is that the science, and needed tipping point research, are still too vague to literally and rationally scare the multinational corporations, governments and intelligence agencies into immediate action for their own self preservation.

Here we also have the insanity factor of "doing the same thing over and over during the past 30 years and expecting a different result" coming into play. We won't get a different atmospheric carbon reduction result until climate destabilization tipping point research is fully funded, so detailed, and irrefutable that even a flat Earther would see that taking action now is in their best economic, political, and physical survival self-interest to act collectively, cooperatively.

Once it is known, this much needed additional tipping point research will truly be the world's most valuable information. It is something that average citizens can still influence getting done.

It has the power to make or break nations, businesses, and communities. Thousands of trillions of dollars will be made by those who have this information; and lost by those who do not! Billions of lives will be improved by it!

What You Can do Personally, and or Self-organize, for Collective Group Action on the Climate Tipping Point Research Crisis:

a) Personally, or as a group, write to the wealthiest 60 % of the 1% of individuals in the population who control most of the political and economic power, influence lobbyists and special interest groups what you know about the unknown tipping points of climate destabilization and the consequences of CCD.

As more and more of us begin to share what we have learned, and forward the CCD tipping point conversation, we will begin to reduce the threat of extinction level climate destabilization and create instead a sustainable world that is meaningfully prosperous for all and the generations to come. Where ever you can reach out to, and help, the wealthiest 60 % of the 1% of the world's population who are not involved in the fossil fuels industrial complex, to understand that no amount of money will insulate them and their families from suffering the same chain of catastrophes and disruption that will befall the rest of us. Climate destabilization is a slow moving asteroid moving closer and closer to impact. There are no safe havens for wealthy individuals when irreversible climate destabilization reaches its projected maximum extinction level impact! Be sure to also ask them to use their full economic, and political, influence to call for an immediate emergency international meeting to create verifiable and enforceable international laws on carbon pollution, and to fund the additional climate tipping point research that is needed.

b) Personally, or as a group, write to the most senior executives of the 60 % of the top 1% of the wealthiest multi-national corporations who also control most of the political and economic power, influence, lobbyists and special interest groups what you know about the unknown tipping points of climate destabilization.

Where ever you can reach, and help, the senior executives of the 60 % of the top 1% of the wealthiest multi-national corporations to understand that no amount of money will insulate their corporations from suffering the same chain of economic, social and political catastrophes and business disruptions that will befall the rest of us. There will also be no safe havens for wealthy corporations when climate destabilization reaches its projected maximum extinction level impact! Ask them to use their influence to call for an immediate emergency international meeting to create enforceable international laws on carbon pollution. Also ask them to use their influence to call for full funding for additional climate tipping point research.

c) Personally, or as a group, write to or contact your leading national and local politicians, intelligence agency heads, environmental protection agencies and nonprofit sustainability and environmental organizations about the "first things first" need to convene an emergency international meeting authorized to create effective, verifiable and enforceable international laws on carbon pollution and its climate destabilization as well as authorized to fund additional climate tipping point research.

Write letters, make phone calls, and send emails to the most powerful politicians, king, or rulers of your nation, and those department and non-profit heads in charge of protecting the environment. Ask them to use their influence to call for an emergency international meeting to create new, consistently enforceable international laws on carbon pollution. Remind them what they already know, which is that immediately creating enforceable international law regulating atmospheric carbon, (which is the key human-caused and controllable element of climate destabilization) is the only known and certain way to mitigate this danger in time to avert irreversible climate destabilization, and an extinction level event for humanity.

When contacting non-profit sustainability and environmental organizations, ask that they re-focus their main efforts on influencing the adoption of these new verifiable and enforceable international laws, and then on the other key areas of this plan. Even though their current focus may be some very worthy sub-areas of the environment, unless we solve global climate destabilization (as the prime game board upon all other games and goals depend) success in any other area may be short lived or impossible.

Also demand first that they adequately fund climate tipping point research and or immediately tell us what the major climate destabilization tipping points are. If they cannot tell us in detail when and where the science tells us the climate will destabilize into catastrophic national and global consequences, how can they protect us from them and do their jobs?

Remind these individuals that their job description is to protecting the common good and well being of all from foreseeable serious threats, and that they are paid their salaries and are trusted to make sure that we, the general population, are safe from developing threats to national, and local, security such as what we are already witnessing with climate destabilization!

Remind them that this is their primary job description; not yours! Remind them that that catastrophic climate destabilization recovery and repair costs will eventually consume up to 5% of the total GDP and that is just for starters!

Remind them that most of us have 9 to 5 jobs and pay our taxes so that our politicians, government leaders, and our government environmental protection agencies do the necessary research and take the necessary action in time to avoid catastrophic problems like this for us! Demand they do what they are trusted to do and for what they are paid for. That is to protect the population, nation, and environment from surprise and avoidable cataclysmic harm.

Remind them that if the climate tipping point research is incomplete, it is their responsibility to get that research funded and done! Remind them that that it won't just be the judgment of history that will fall against them if they fail to execute the trust they have been given, their positions will become untenable as cataclysmic climate destabilization worsens. Suggest that they watch the two 10 minute videos mentioned on the top of this page.

d) Personally, or as a group, write to the leading global Think Tanks about catastrophic climate destabilization, particularly in the area of discovering the unknown tipping points and enforceable international carbon pollution laws.

Ask them to get more of their resources involved in doing new research on climate destabilization tipping points, and the detailed consequences of increasing climate destabilization. Many of them exert a powerful influence on the thinking and actions of government and business executives. Ask them to use their influence to call for an emergency international meeting to create verifiable and enforceable international laws on carbon pollution.

e) Personally, or as a group, write to the world's leading journalists about catastrophic climate destabilization, particularly about the unknown tipping points.

Write letters, make phone calls, and send emails. Do whatever you can to bring this issue to the attention of leading journalists all over the world, in every type of media, so they will continue to both ask the hard questions and tell the story loud and clear, calling people to action until the tipping points of catastrophic climate destabilization are known. Ask them to use their influence to call for an emergency international meeting to create verifiable and enforceable international laws on carbon pollution.

f) Personally, or as a group, write to your favorite celebrities, screenwriters, producers, and movie directors about catastrophic, irreversible, and extinction-level climate destabilization.

Ask them to popularize and champion the climate, international law and tipping point cause! Suggest that they write a song about the tipping point issue, and catastrophic climate destabilization, speak about it or make movies or documentaries dramatizing the horrendous effects of climate destabilization as well as illustrating the solutions. Ask that these celebrities use their popular clout to bring this life critical issue to the attention of the world in their every interview and opportunity to speak out.

The greatest disaster movie of all time will be the scientifically accurate step by step story of what will happen around the world with the accelerating levels of irreversible catastrophic climate destabilization when taken to a near, or the complete, extinction of humanity. The movie makers who do this should not only do very well financially, they will literally preserve the world and future generations by informing it! Ask them to use their influence to call for an emergency international meeting to create verifiable and enforceable international laws on carbon pollution.

g) Personally, or as a group, get the local business or corporation in which you work to be a part of the solution of catastrophic climate destabilization, particularly in the area of demanding discovery of the unknown tipping points, and enforceable international carbon pollution laws.

If you are part of a business or corporation, do what you can to make sure it is aware of what catastrophic climate destabilization will mean to its bottom line, and its future in terms of supply and work disruptions, rapidly migrating consumers and worsening economic stability. Ask it to make it a priority to be a part of the solution by demanding the climate destabilization climate tipping points are make publicly known! Ask that  catastrophic climate destabilization and sustainable prosperity practices are discussed in their training sessions, newsletters, and other methods of communication so that it is brought to the attention of all business staff, clients and stakeholders. Ask that uses its influence to call for an emergency international meeting to create verifiable and enforceable international laws on carbon pollution. In addition, ask that it develops sustainable, environmentally-friendly business practices that support the idea of sustainable prosperity.

h) If you have one, personally or as a group, get your religious or spiritual group involved in actively working to reverse catastrophic climate destabilization, particularly in the area of discovering the unknown tipping points.

Ask your local church, denomination, or spiritual community to stress the importance of discovering the climate tipping points and resolving the catastrophic climate destabilization issue. Have them promote Job One for Humanity or a similar program, to their membership as a priority. Ask that religious community leaders speak about it in sermons, newsletters, and any other means possible to bring it to the attention of the congregation as a social and spiritual imperative of the utmost importance. Ask them to use their influence to call for an emergency international meeting to create verifiable and enforceable international laws on carbon pollution.

i) Create a local support group, or Meet-up group, for other individuals and organizations in your area supporting reversing human caused cataclysmic climate destabilization and or to take the steps of the Job One for Humanity Climate Re-Stabilization plan.  Self-organizing a local support network is a key to eventual success in that a supportive micro-culture can be up to 90% of the reason a plan succeeds once the facts are known and used! Share new information, materials and successes on how to educate and enlist others into co-creating all the steps of Job One success in this local group. And finally;

j) As you need to, crowd source out the critical tipping point research, improve the Job One for Humanity Plan and use KickStarter to raise funds for this mission critical research should governments, markets and corporations fail to fund it properly!You can also use crowd sourcing or donations to raise funds for your local Job One group educational actions.

The Big Key Take-Away from Part 2, Step 1 of the Job One Plan: The Tipping Point Summary

Commonly used rising temperature timetable calculation scenarios, such as in the recent UN's IPPC reports, do not generally contain any climate tipping point scenarios, or incorporate them into those rising temperature timetable calculations.  Unless key decision makers have accurate, complete, and relevant climate data, it is impossible for them to conduct an accurate risk analysis or make and enforce the correct policy decisions on the proper timetable to avert global climate catastrophe.

It is that simple! Providing scenarios that only include climate data based upon "everything going perfectly as predicted", without including climate tipping points is grossly inadequate especially when you are betting the future of humanity on your predictions! In complex adaptive climate systems with nonlinear responses, and poorly defined and researched tipping points, not much will ever consistently go as predicted.

Although it will be difficult and expensive, this means that we must collectively push to get climate system and sub-system tipping point research completed NOW. We also need to demand that intelligence agencies around the world that have classified their climate destabilization and climate tipping point research voluntarily de-classify it for the well being of humanity, and not keep it secret for some perceived national economic, security, or social stability advantage.

Treat this critically needed climate tipping point research as if it was as valuable as urgent research about a credible and imminent nuclear threat, because over time, not having this tipping point information is just as dangerous to the overall well being of humanity today, as well as for future generations! Without having more accurate information on when the key climate system and sub-system tipping points will occur, we will not know if the best climate re-stabilization laws, policies, and plans that we now have will actually be effective in time to prevent extinction level climate destabilization.

We will also not know what are the best "first things first," critical path modifications that we need to make immediately to our existing climate re-stabilization plans. Worse yet, we will not know how to tell what steps of our existing climate re-stabilization plans are just "nice-to-dos" or, if they are ineffective as the absolute minimal required actions needed for extinction avoidance within the critical time deadlines.

In the past, we have quickly and successfully created verifiable, and enforceable, global or international laws and agreements  relating to the air pollution caused by the chemical called Freon. It was used in refrigeration and air conditioners, and when it leaked out it rapidly destroyed and caused holes the ozone layer of the atmosphere. We acted quickly because of the scary escalating danger that would have harmed almost everyone on earth. If we did this before with Freon air pollution, even though Freon manufacturing is a much smaller industry than the rich and powerful fossil fuels industry, we can do it again with carbon and methane air pollution, but we need to do it soon. Here's why!

A serious climate cliff, and climate destabilization tipping point for our planet's climate stabilization has been roughly estimated to occur anywhere from 15 to 30 years from 2015. This first critical climate tipping point is projected to occur when carbon pollution in the atmosphere comes close to, or exceeds, 450 parts per million (ppm). This is an almost guaranteed 2 degree Celsius (4-6 degrees Fahrenheit) average global temperature increase.

This means that even though it will be challenging, we must create the needed new local, national, and global or international laws to keep us from crossing this tipping point, and the other even worse key climate tipping points that follow rapidly behind it. In this way we can reverse catastrophic climate destabilization before it becomes irreversible, or leads to an extinction level event for humanity and an estimated half of all species on earth!

Please note: the establishment of enforceable international laws on reversing climate destabilization is the indispensable spearhead of the Job One for Humanity program.

The reasoning behind the importance of having verifiable and enforceable international law lies in the facts that:

1) We are running out of time! ONLY verifiable and enforceable international or global law has any hope of orchestrating, demanding and executing all of the global changes needed. We are lined up to cross catastrophic climate tipping points soon.

2) Clear international laws, and consistent enforcement is now the essential and necessary structure required to deal with the general public’s ignorance on complex climate systems issues. Let's face facts. Most people do not have the climate science background, and systems thinking skills, needed to really understand why this is the "crisis of the century" that must be fixed. Also, there are well-funded misinformation programs sponsored by fossil fuel energy interests that have paralyzed and confused much of the public. International law drafted by politicians who can understand the science is the only thing that will overcome this "education lag" in time to stabilize the climate once again.

New, verifiable and consistently enforced climate preservation and stabilization laws must be drafted so well that even the most ignorant and selfish person among us will want to follow them. This is because graduated penalties for the negative consequences of not following these wise new laws so are so swift, and certain, that there would be an immediate reduction in achieving their self interests.

3) Clear international laws and consistent enforcement is also the essential and necessary structure needed to deal with our primal and overriding natural self interests. In evolutionary terms, and systems, self interest is the dominant driving force and motivation for the parts of the whole in evolutionary systems. We as individuals are parts of the whole evolutionary system known as humanity. Unless these primal self interests are managed by some form of government, with the enforceable power to reward and penalize, private individual, or corporate self-interests, will win out over the commonwealth and well being (the self interests) of humanity as a whole. And, most importantly;

Unfortunately, there is no other way to achieve both the necessary short-term and long-term climate stabilization goals, other than to have these enforceable and aligned national, and international laws to mobilize us quickly enough, and to combat general ignorance and our self-interested motivations.

To even make it possible to get new international climate laws, we must first get the lawmakers and policymakers to review, and understand, the newest research on the climate tipping points that will be added to existing rising temperature climate scenarios. When the lawmakers and policymakers can accurately evaluate ALL climate tipping point, and non tipping point, risk scenarios with the appropriate fear that this information should engender in a rational person, and when they can clearly see the future of humanity is at risk if we make the wrong legal and policy decisions or "bet,” they then have the best chance of acting wisely to get these laws enacted without further delay.

Once we have this new tipping point information fully integrated into the rising temperature climate scenarios, we must demand that all the nations of the world meet immediately and, this time, not leave this new international law-making meeting until verifiable and uniformly enforceable international carbon pollution laws are established! What these new international laws must do is to cause every polluter to pay the full cost of cleaning up their pollution. Currently, polluters externalize the costs of their pollution by passing them on to the human commonwealth and human commons. The new pollution laws have to ensure that this can no longer happen, and all pollution costs are always internalized to that organization and are no longer a burden on the common spaces and well being! All pollution economic advantages to any entity, anywhere in the world, must be equally punished with fines and other enforcement actions to ensure compliance. Without these new verifiable, and

enforceable international pollution laws being in place, soon there will be little hope of keeping catastrophic climate destabilization from becoming irreversible, or rising to the levels of an extinction level event for humanity.

If any nation fails to ratify, and enforce, the new international laws on carbon pollution of the atmosphere or within their nation, the other nations of the world will need to immediately apply sufficient new import, and other trade, tariffs or economic penalties that eliminate any economic or national advantage that nation would have gained by failure to ratify, comply with, or consistently enforce the new international carbon pollution laws.  No individual, business, or nation can be allowed to bypass, or not comply with, these new international laws and gain any kind of competitive advantage over those who do comply. Otherwise the laws will be ineffective and will not prevent the unthinkable levels of catastrophic climate destabilization.

There is also an evolutionary paradox here that, in fairness, we must also recognize. Unless the new Fee and Dividend and other similar carbon pollution reduction laws are enacted internationally, and consistently and uniformly enforced, those that are not subject to doing business under the same new international carbon pollution laws will have an unfair economic advantage. For example, if businesses in the US are penalized by our national laws for carbon pollution and businesses in Japan, China, and India are not, then those business and nations will have an unfair competitive advantage over the U.S.

Unfortunately, there is also currently no existing officially recognized international mechanism for creating fair and uniformly trans-nationally enforceable carbon pollution international law. That makes solving this challenge considerably more difficult, but not impossible. Unlike the popular Cap and Trade proposed laws, the new Fee and Dividend Fee carbon pollution reduction laws do the least to harm the poor, while still effectively reducing overall carbon.

Without this international law to verify and enforce the full pollution cost capture, those who seek unfair competitive advantage through outsourcing the costs of their pollution upon society, with no appropriate pollution cost to them, will make it very difficult for those who do want to comply with new international carbon pollution law to survive economically. This strategy of establishing and enforcing new international law to mitigate climate destabilization, with sufficient economic tariffs and penalties for those who won't pass rational and needed international climate laws, bypasses the need to have an established, highly functional, inter-governmental unity prior to creating these new laws. Unfortunately, without a true global government with enforcement powers on member nations, the enforcement or penalization obstructionism that offending nations or corporations can create will delay solving the carbon pollution crisis so long that we still go over the climate cliff.

This leads to an another reason why enacting, and enforcing, national and international laws are critical to long-term success. Pollution on a civil level is nothing more than common theft. It is a misdemeanor, or felony, depending upon its scope and impact. It is the theft of the health and resources of those  currently alive and of future generations, whose health and resources will eventually be used or depleted by it. If you are religious or spiritual in nature, also consider treating pollution as a moral wrong and a sin varying in seriousness at different scales.

This is international theft because pollution recognizes no borders. It demonstrates that, collectively, we need to demand common and aligned national, and international environmental sustainability laws that consistently enforce full pollution cost capture. This is one aspect of the new triple bottom line full cycle accounting, which recognizes the source of the air pollution, so that ALL must comply. Without these verifiable and enforceable national, and international, air pollution laws those individuals, businesses, and nations who can still pollute without penalty will not only obtain unfair economic advantage (profit) for themselves, but will they also steal the health, quality of life, and economic viability from those that are subjected to their pollution. Therefore, it has now become necessary to always treat pollution as serious theft from other business competitors, the economy, the community, the nation, and from future generations.

Bring All Stakeholders into a Workable Solution

We also need to help the 2nd Industrial Revolution fossil fuel industry and its related companies, and their employees make the transition to green energy, so that no one is left out of the benefits of Climate Re-stabilization and the move to a more Sustainable Prosperity. We could even use some of the collected taxes from the new carbon Fee and Dividend Fee programs to fund this transition assistance.

When moving toward creating the enforceable new carbon pollution laws that will help the next generation’s clean green energy to replace carbon-polluting fossil fuel, we cannot forget dealing fairly with the fossil fuel and related industries and their natural self-interest in profits. We can't forget to provide them with generous financial transition benefits for moving their energy and business models, equipment, and employee retraining from the dead-end fossil fuels of the Second Industrial Revolution of yesterday to the new green Third Industrial Revolution energy generation systems of tomorrow. The fossil fuel industry is, after all, already the largest force in the energy business today and produces 1/3 of the world’s total gross domestic product.

Why should they miss out on the profits to be made on the inevitable, and greatest, green energy transition in human history? Additionally, it will be far easier to generously incentivize the fossil fuel industry into joining the transition in this life critical transition to green energy, rather than having to fight them and their enormous wealth and influence.

Generously incentivizing them NOW will also be far, far cheaper than cleaning up the unthinkable consequences of escalating climate destabilization, if we delay in resolving this jobs transition issue because of unmanaged loss-of-profits push back from what may be the world’s single most powerful industry.

The Reality of the Peaceful Influence Needed to get New Enforceable and Verifiable International Laws on Carbon Pollution: The 60 Percent of the Wealthiest 1 Percent

To influence nations to change their ways, and create these new verifiable and enforceable international laws, will require lobbying, and the special interest groups of the wealthiest top 1% of individuals and corporations in the world. Lets be honest and realistic, the wealthiest one percent has a dominating influence over politicians in every country on earth.

Holding on to the illusion that the will of the majority of average citizens is actually going to influence politicians over the power of the wealthiest 1 percent is not practical. First of all, you will not get a majority of the population to actively demand climate re-stabilization until long after it is too late to do anything about it. The issue and science is far too complex for most people to understand. Secondly, the general population, while supporting a healthy environment, are overwhelmed by the idea of re-stabilizing the climate. Most of them also secretly believe that they individually do not have the direct, or indirect, personal influence needed to significantly change the opinions and actions of their politicians.

So believing that we will create a critical mass of public opinion in time that will actually influence politicians in time to prevent extinction level climate destabilization is nothing more than a comforting illusion! There is, however, an additional huge problem here in targeting the top 1 percent of the wealthiest individuals and corporations to lobby the politicians.

Not all of the wealthiest individuals and corporations should be targeted for contact. Approximately 26-28 trillion dollars a year or about 40% of the world's gross domestic product (GDP,) comes from the fossil fuel industrial complex. The new sustainable world vision of greener energy generation makes their fossil fuel burning business model obsolete, and they know it. This means that 40% of the world's wealthiest 1 percent of individuals and corporations have powerful self-interests in direct opposition to a greener energy future.

We have to focus our attention on getting the 60% of the world's wealthiest 1% of individuals and corporations who do not obtain their wealth from the fossil fuels burning industrial complex, to put their lobbyists and special interest groups to influencing the world's politicians and fighting the influence and special interest groups of the other 40 percent of the world's wealthiest 1 percent of individuals and corporations who do obtain their wealth from the fossil fuels burning industrial complex. It is in the strongest wealth preservation self-interest of the 60% of the world's wealthiest 1% of individuals and corporations who do not obtain their wealth from the fossil fuels burning industrial complex to use their influence to move us to green energy generation because, on the road to extinction level climate destabilization, their wealth and power will be drastically reduced because of the climate destabilization consequences described elsewhere on this website and in books like “6 Degrees” by Mark Lynas. This means that when you are working on Step 2 of Part 2 of the Job One for Humanity climate re-stabilization plan below, focus the greatest part of your efforts in contacting and education the 60% of the 1% who, like us, have the most to lose.

In case you are wondering why one would not also go after the roughly 40% of the 1 % who do obtain their wealth from the fossil fuels burning industrial complex, the reason is simple: Job One does not waste valuable resources on near useless battles. Or, as is far better said by Mark Twain over a hundred years ago, "It's hard to teach a man something that his livelihood depends upon not knowing."

The most important sub-actions that we all need to do for establishing enforceable new international laws on carbon pollution emissions reduction are:

a) After many years, and 18 major meetings, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change has been unsuccessful and shows little hope, as it is currently progressing, to ever be able to deal with the critical path climate destabilization time lines and tipping points. A new strategy of effective peaceful influence and lobbying of all kinds must be brought from all social, economic, and political areas to bear upon the nation participants in these UN meetings to establish verifiable and enforceable international laws, and consequences, regarding climate destabilization.

If it cannot be done through this United Nations working group, then a new international working group with the necessary authority in an emergency meeting needs to be convened, and these new laws pushed through FAST!

b) Demand our current government representatives,and those lobbyist and special interest groups that can influence them, immediately enact new enforceable national and international laws that will get atmospheric carbon pollution back to carbon 350 ppm, or below, and stop irreversible climate destabilization by ordering the immediate adoption of the seldom publicly discussed carbon pollution fee and 100% direct dividend to the public or similar laws.

Fee and Dividend laws are based on the simple principle that the best way to control and reduce atmospheric carbon pollution is by prices. The new Fee and Dividend laws also do the least to harm the poor, while still effectively reducing overall carbon.This is because they get direct regular dividends for their wise use of energy. Fee and Dividend laws are not a piecemeal approaches because they affect all fossil fuel prices. This makes the new prices direct incentives and disincentives to motivate the consumer to make the necessary lifestyle, and livelihood, adaptations and improvements. Once the consumer has made the energy efficiency changes, to maintain their budgets, businesses will adapt to those new consumer preferences if they want to stay in business. Carbon pollution improvements have to be made by consumers all over the world or businesses will not adapt in time. The Fee and Dividend plan is not the highly publicized and promoted Cap and Trade plan that is being heavily promoted by big energy corporations, Wall Street and Big Media. Cap and Trade is made and designed for energy businesses by energy lobbyists. It give the benefits of conservation to energy companies and not to the consumers where it should go, if we are ever going to change the consumer lifestyles and livelihoods creating the demand for atmosphere polluting fossil fuels. For the other numerous reasons discussed elsewhere on this website and in the book “Storms of My Grandchildren” by James Hansen, the Cap and Trade plan will not work in time to avoid the catastrophic climate destabilization, and the known and unknown tipping points.

Cap and Trade is the equivalent, in real atmospheric carbon pollution reduction effectiveness, of the efficiency of the old Soviet Era central planning. Do not be fooled by the big money energy lobbyists, big media and the Wall Street brokers pushing for a new, high commission, source for this program. Cap and Trade is NOT the Fee and Dividend plan. In cap and trade, the cash incentives for carbon change go everywhere, but where they really need to go, to the consumer, who is the one who ultimately has made the necessary changes. Business ultimately responds to consumer demand and preferences. Cap and Trade does little to directly change consumer demand and preferences. With Cap and Trade we will just get more of what we have now!

The Fee and Dividend plan has the best chance of any current proposed plan to work, because it both protects the poor and it delivers the incentives and disincentives directly to both the consuming public and consumer business owners, and uses their natural and local self-interests to get them to want to adapt and change quickly to a more sustainable society using less carbon polluting energy. By getting the financial incentives and disincentives directly to the consuming public and away from government, Wall Street, and the big energy corporations who are trying to make remote non free market market decisions for the public, the consumer public will, ultimately, force energy and related fossil fuels production and distribution businesses to adapt more quickly, if they want to remain profitable.

If you have not read about the very different Fee and Dividend plan that will motivate the general public to adapt and modify their behavior by serving their own self interests, do so now. This effective and simple program will not get much media coverage because it does not unfairly benefit big energy corporations, Wall Street, politicians, and the big money controlled media.

c) If you are a US citizen, sign the US petition to enact the new Fee and Dividend laws that will work effectively to drastically reduce human caused atmospheric carbon pollution. If you are in a country other than the U.S. create a similar electronic petition in your country.

d) Elect and support politicians who see climate destabilization as the single greatest defining crisis and challenge of the 21st Century, and who will steadfastly enact laws to mitigate it. Work quickly to remove support from any politician who continues to promote denial of the science on climate destabilization, or who votes against laws to mitigate it.

e) Personally contact all of the people you know who can directly, or indirectly, influence politicians and tell them you want new enforceable laws on climate destabilization. Do not be afraid to write to, or email, famous individuals. At the end of the Step 2 of the tipping point research (see below), you will find a list (a-i,) of the types of people and organizations to contact to demand that we immediately create Fee and Dividend type, and other needed enforceable international laws on atmospheric carbon pollution. We really need the new national, and international  Fee and Dividend laws widely discussed and enacted immediately if we are going to affect the local market changes that will bring in the Green energy revolution!

f) While you are demanding these new enforceable international laws do not forget to insist that governments immediately begin setting aside 5% of their gross domestic product (GDP) into a catastrophic climate destabilization costs reserve fund. Without these reserves rapidly being established, how will the governments of the world be able to help their own citizens much less their neighbor nations?

We Need to Plan For and Care for All of Those who Will be Most Negatively Affected by the Transition From Fossil Fuels to Clean Green and Alternative Fuels

Not only do governments need to install a Fee and Dividend tax on fossil fuels, they also need to install a special transition tax. We need to be realistic about the transition from a primary dependency on fossil fuels to a transition to clean, green alternative fuels. In this transition, millions of jobs will be lost in the fossil fuel industry, and in related or dependent industries.

We need to have a transitional reserve fund in place so that we may help those displaced individuals retrain for new jobs, as well as helping those companies who need to retool to new industries. Failure to install adequate tax management of the fossil fuel industry to create a large fossil fuel retraining and retooling transition fund would be disastrous, and would further serve to delay the speedy transition from fossil fuels to clean green, and alternative, fuels that we so desperately need now!

This transition tax could be levied directly, and indirectly, by removing all cash and tax incentives currently given to the fossil fuel industry. The government would then allocate 100% those revenues to a special, untouchable, fossil fuel retraining and retooling transition fund.

The government could also raise taxes on fossil fuel profits, both on the fossil fuel companies and on the fossil fuel company stockholders receiving profits from fossil fuel investments. Once again these special transitional tax revenues would be 100% allocated to a special fossil fuel retraining and retooling transition fund, and used only for those legitimate purposes.

There will, without a doubt, be those individuals who will shout and scream that these transition fund tax strategies and the Fee and Dividend program are un-American or are a socialist plot to transfer money from the rich to the poor. Oddly enough, those very individuals are often glad to quietly receive corporate welfare in numerous different forms. They are also quite willing to ignore the long-standing principles of government legitimacy, which is that governments throughout history have used tax strategies to provide for the current and future general well-being of their people. Our interstate highways and other infrastructure, as well as our national food emergency reserves and emergency services, are just a few examples of such legitimate governmental collective wellbeing actions.

Ultimately, the above is the most permanently effective, and important, single curative action step of all Job One listed parts and steps! If we do not get these new and enforceable international laws enacted quickly, all of the other Job One for Humanity parts and steps, or that are currently being done by others in other programs, will not be effective in time to prevent extinction level climate destabilization!

Enforceable and Verifiable International Climate Law and the Fracking Boom

Fracking is a method of using new technologies to recover oil and methane from the earth that were previously unrecoverable, or financially unfeasible to recover. Although earlier forms of fracking have been around for decades, fracking has recently experienced a global resurgence and expansion to levels never seen before.

Fracking in the United States is in a boom state, supplying the US and the world with oil and natural gas at levels never seen before. Predictions are that the United States could become energy independent within the next few years because of this new technology fracking boom.

There are many environmental groups who believe that due to fracking's many negative environmental impacts, and the fact that we should be fully evolving completely off fossil fuels to alternative fuels, fracking should be banned completely.

In the Job One Plan we believe there are several good reasons why we may not want to do that right now:

a) There may be a better approach when fracking is put into the larger picture of new enforceable international laws. Job One forwards that we should have new enforceable international climate laws that require ALL fossil fuel industries to ensure that ALL of their exploration and extraction activities do not cause negative environmental impacts. If it does occur, these new enforceable international climate laws will require them to eliminate or repair ALL of the negative environmental impacts that are caused by their exploration and extraction at their full expense.

Furthermore, these new enforceable international climate laws will also require that ALL fossil fuel exploration and extraction companies are required to purchase fifty-year insurance bonds that will FULLY guarantee that the local, or national taxpayers, the general public, or government will not be stuck with the costs of cleaning up, and paying for any negative environmental impacts which occur, or are discovered, years later. This 50-year mandatory insurance bond is an absolute minimum new enforceable international climate law that needs to be enacted soon. The reason for this is because it is currently the normal policy of many fossil fuel companies to create exploration and extraction shell corporations with little or no assets. These asset empty shell corporations then transfer all fossil fuel extraction profits to second or third party corporations, which have been fully sheltered from any legal liability of the fossil fuel exploration or extraction process by the extracting or exploring empty shell companies.

The empty shell exploration and extraction corporations simply go out of business whenever they cannot afford the damage lawsuits or the environmental repair costs from their fossil fuel exploration and extraction actions. This exports and externalizes the full costs of their negative environmental impacts onto the local, and national taxpayers.

This ongoing widespread policy of fossil fuel exploration and extraction companies transferring all the profits to sheltered corporations, and the local, and national taxpayers bearing all the environmental liabilities has to be terminated immediately. Once this is done, many, if not all, of the environmental concerns of individuals and environmental groups would be remedied.

b) Another good reason for not banning fracking altogether now, is that at a later date, as we miss more and more of the critical path deadlines for effective climate re-stabilization, we may be forced temporarily to use much more methane natural gas as a stepping stone energy source while we move towards greener energy sources. When the ship is sinking, drastic temporary measures often have to be taken.

What we need to do NOW is ensure that the fossil fuel industry fully pays for ALL its environmental damage, and that there are no escape hatches or loopholes. More will be said about temporary technical solutions in a later section of the Job One plan.

We strongly recommend that you do not get lost, or waste valuable resources, in skirmishes for banning fracking. Working on the battle for new enforceable international climate laws to make all fossil fuel polluters inescapably, and fully financially, responsible for 100% of their environmental damage, would do far more to achieve overall climate re-stabilization.

The Big Key Take-Away from Part 2, Step 2 of the Job One Plan

Do not delude yourself. This is by far the most difficult step of the Job One Plan.

Some would say we will never get all of the world's political leaders of major polluting countries, as well as the top 1% percent of its wealthy power brokers to cooperate and pass verifiable and enforceable international climate laws in time to avert a global climate meltdown. That is because about 1/3 of the world's GDP comes from the fossil fuel industry. Some say the needed global climate laws will only happen after an horrendous global climate meltdown, or when it is too late, or if somehow we first evolve a new global government with the power to enact the needed new climate laws. Many say that the top 1% percent of the world's wealthy power brokers will continue to believe that they, and their children, will be insulated from climate destabilization because of their wealth, or that they will continue to see climate destabilization as just another crisis profit opportunity where they can further increase both their wealth and power.

Many are now saying the chances of being successful with creating verifiable and enforceable new international climate laws in time to avert irreversible global climate catastrophe are almost nil. This is why Job One also recommends that you always personally prepare to adapt to the high probability these needed climate laws will not be passed in time, and we will go over the climate cliff.

Be under no illusion! This step IS the core of the Job One plan and the most important collective Part and Step for the climate to be eventually re-stabilized. To lessen, or stop, climate destabilization in time, we cannot entertain the illusion that we can educate the majority of people around the planet about about the complex science of climate destabilization from which to then build the political will to act from the bottom to force those at the top, and in control, to act! Nor do we have time to waste time battling climate destabilization deniers who either can't understand the complexities of climate science, or often serve other vested financial interests.

Brave politicians and lawmakers have to be collectively convinced first, and mainly by new climate tipping point research added into current climate calculations, to enact verifiable and enforceable international laws, that have heavy penalties, to protect the future and the overall well being of humanity, and future generations.  Only effective, verifiable  and enforceable international laws enacted immediately have any real hope of saving us! These international laws always need to be based upon a solid understanding of the key climate system, and sub-system, tipping points and from that we are then able to know the correct deadlines and first things first, critical path actions needed for reversing climate destabilization.

National, and local laws, are not enough! National, and local, laws are not globally verifiable and enforceable laws. They will only punish national and local businesses, and nations, and provide a huge unfair competitive advantage to nations and localities not subject to the same laws and enforcement.

"International climate laws that are not verifiable and enforceable and, that do not have standardized large penalties for all nations that make it very unprofitable to violate these laws simply will not work well enough or in time to avoid the worst of climate destabilization. Weak climate international treaties, or international laws that do not also meet these minimal verification and enforcement criteria are an illusion of effective critical path actions. They are a hidden recipe for climate restabilization failure.

Creating truly effective enforceable and verifiable international climate laws may even require creating some new form of global government, at least for the area of carbon and methane atmospheric pollution and our shared global climate."  Lawrence Wollersheim

Before we go over the climate cliff, ensure that enforceable new national, and international, laws are rapidly enacted to reverse escalating human-caused catastrophic climate destabilization! This is an emergency action essential to resolving the first declared Planetary State of Emergency on Escalating Climate Destabilization.

We are currently at 400 plus carbon parts per million (ppm,) in the atmosphere and we are now adding 2 ppm plus of new carbon into the atmosphere every year. That is about 430 ppm if you also include methane levels in the current carbon number. Carbon 450 ppm has been predicted as one of the most serious tipping points! Although there are many CCD prevention action plans being promoted, based on the as yet inadequate data about many climate tipping points, the single fastest, most effective, and science-based plan put forward to get us back down to carbon 350 ppm in time to keep the climate from crossing the existing few projected critical tipping points into full blown catastrophic climate destabilization, or irreversible CCD, is to drastically reduce ALL coal burning emissions from all energy generation everywhere in every nation! This action alone may be enough to significantly reverse and mitigate CCD. Without this action being taken,  current calculations indicate that it is near impossible to reverse catastrophic climate destabilization.

The current, but still highly limited climate tipping point science, shows that global coal burning emissions from energy generation does more to increase human-caused carbon atmospheric pollution and raise carbon parts per million (ppm,) than anything else by far!  In fact, nothing else, as a single controllable source of human-caused atmospheric carbon pollution, appears to come even close! That is why this is the first area in which we have to act successfully if we are going to save the planet for ourselves and future generations.

This coal fired energy generation reduction plan requires at least a 50% reduction in coal emissions by 2020, and near a 100% emissions reduction by 2035. It may even have to be far faster than this, if new critical climate tipping point research tells us that is what is needed to prevent irreversible climate destabilization. As of November 2012, almost nothing on a global scale has been done to ensure we hit those targets because there is no international law and enforcement ensuring that we do.

This is no small task. Most developed countries get almost 50% of all their electrical generation from coal, and in developing countries the percentages are much higher than that (70-90%.) Also, even the most optimistic plans for phasing out carbon polluting fuels (where every country had already fully currently agreed to make the changes in law and enforce them) predict that it will take at least 25 to 35 years to build the necessary infrastructure if all parties were already in full agreement (with the enforceable international new laws) and fully committed to begin this conversion immediately using more new correctional resources than have ever be allocated to a single project in human history.

We all know that as things stand now, hitting those targets, or even coming close, is a fairy tale. It would take new international, and national, laws that are fully enforced to effectively succeed in this project. Currently, there is no verifiable and enforceable international law or definite agreement on this coal pollution issue. There is also no global mechanism to enforce such laws and agreements on member nations if they did exist.

You will find a detailed plan on how we can profitably move off of carbon polluting fuels like coal and oil and obtain amazing job creating benefits far beyond the value of just preventing catastrophic climate destabilization in the next step of this plan.

If we do not end coal fired energy generation globally quickly, all of the other personal and corporate carbon pollution reducing sustainability practices that we do individually, and collectively both locally and nationally, are not enough to save us from the predicted severe suffering, massive population losses, and escalating economic, social, and political crisis caused by the accelerating catastrophic climate destabilization. This is because coal fired energy generation is the biggest single human caused contributor to carbon atmospheric pollution. It is so large that if this is not managed first, no amount of reduction of other carbon pollution activities will keep us from crossing the critical tipping points in time to preserve the planet and our human species.

The three most important actions to be done by everyone on coal carbon emissions reduction:

a)  Currently, the best known way to achieve the ending of all coal burning energy generation emissions (our most effective first action), is by demanding that our government representatives enact additional new enforceable international, and national, laws that immediately order the end to the building of any NEW coal fired energy generation plants, and also order laws that require the placement of effective coal carbon emission scrubbers on all existing coal energy generation plants. The catch 22 here is that coal fired energy generation emissions scrubbing technology currently does not exist! At the present time, this is the best idea for the massive immediate drops in carbon pollution that is needed to avoid the worst of catastrophic climate destabilization. Unfortunately, it will also most likely be the most difficult carbon pollution legal change to enact across the planet. Enacting the new Fee and Dividend  laws only at a national level will do this more slowly, but this national-only law enactment maybe too little, too late late to prevent crossing critical global climate tipping points of irreversibility! We need new international laws!

b) Sign the U.S. petition to enact the new Fee and Dividend laws that will work effectively to drastically reduce human caused atmospheric carbon pollution. c) Set a 50 year moratorium on all fossil fuel burning by 2063 (excluding military and space exploration). It does not do any good to set a moratorium for fossil fuel burning if that moratorium is realistically impossible to meet! Therefore setting the goal of no fossil fuel burning by 2063 anywhere on the planet (other than for military use or space exploration) is both wise and practical.

This is because we cannot convert all of the fossil fuel infrastructure, fossil fuel distribution and filling stations, fossil fuel powered transportation, fossil fuel heating systems, etc., across the planet in anything much less than 50 years, and that is only if we already have the complete commitment of every government, and corporation, on earth today to enforce this "no more burning" goal happening!

We need to be honest with ourselves as well as being practical. Globally, it will take 4 to 5 decades to select, build and distribute all of the fossil fuel replacements that we choose to use, once all countries and corporations, are all fully committed to making this transition and goal a reality. This 50 year "inconvenient truth" for how long it will actually take to make the fossil fuel infrastructure transition means that carbon pollution levels are likely to soar to 500 ppm (parts per million) on the low side and 600 ppm plus on the high side.We just crossed the 400 ppm mark for the first time in 3.5 million years. That carbon ppm reality is also bad news because we know from earth's history that this level of carbon in the atmosphere eventually means temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees Fahrenheit higher than they are now.

At those temperature levels this means anyone around 50 years from now is likely to have a very hard and unpredictable life, even if we do everything right and immediately begin the 50 year fossil fuel transition. Unfortunately, until we get our politicians and corporations to agree to this 50 year fossil fuel burning transition and moratorium in binding, verifiable and enforceable law, we are still sliding down the slippery slope of even higher temperatures for future generations.

d) We also need to remove all subsidies for the fossil fuel industry globally. Fossil fuels are the energy source of the Second Industrial Revolution of the past.

Other than for limited military use, until other new fuel sources are developed fossil fuels should be viewed as a dying industry. Because of the massive effective lobbying of the fossil fuel industry, governments around the world still offer billions of dollars in subsidies, and corporate welfare, to a fossil fuel industry that is either the most profitable industry, or nearly the most profitable industry, existing.

This makes no sense when we are trying to incentivize green energy generation, the fuel of the new Third Industrial Revolution. What we need to do as quickly as possible is to de-incentivize the fossil fuel industry by removing all the subsidies and corporate welfare that it is now receiving. This does not mean removing support for fossil fuel companies and employees transitioning out of the fossil fuel industry into new industries and skill sets.

Unfortunately, and once again, the above carbon reducing steps can only be realistically and effectively achieved through new national, and international, laws and the consistent enforcement of those laws. It is way too late in the escalating climate destabilization process for slow-starting voluntary compliance programs.

The above action steps are what our best current science tells us is what is the most needed, and most effective, actions that we should take. We also need to understand that this "biggest option" first strategy for reducing human-caused carbon pollution of the atmosphere may evolve, and change, as we gather more scientific research on the climate and its tipping points and new technology breakthroughs are made.

Please be aware that this step, in addition to the enforceable international carbon pollution law step, is also the step where we may have to peacefully, but actively, confront and deter vested interests who also know what they are doing, and are still unfairly profiting from the carbon pollution of our shared atmosphere at the expense of the destruction of both the environment and humanity.

What You Can Actually Do Right Now to Demand New Climate Tipping Point Research,  New Enforceable International Carbon Pollution Laws and that We get Back to or Below Carbon 350

The items on this who to contact list will be needed to be done by citizens in every country in the world. It is Job One for all of Humanity, not just Job one for South Africa, Germany, China, or the United States.

Many items on this prioritized contact list are both easy and ideal for getting grade school, high school, and college students involved in a fast, easy, and cost effective way to help make a truly significant and important contribution toward mitigating the Job One for Humanity challenge by getting powerful decision makers around the world alerted to the urgent need, and the hard facts on climate destabilization and its tipping points of no return. It may turn out that the Millennial generation, those born after 1982, have the extinction level climate destabilization issue as the single most important and defining challenge of their generation, a challenge that involves the survival, and quality of life, of most of the human race, and most of the planet's species.

If the Millennial generation does not put away their video games and temporarily put their young adulthoods on hold to work on this defining challenge of their generation, the 21 st Century and our shared futures are unlikely to be saved from climate destabilization.

Can we really expect the older retiring generation to lead in this challenge? How will the work-loaded older adult generation ever have time? They are barely keeping up now, often times having multiple jobs. The Millennials of the world will need to lead by self-organizing and bringing their new creativity, and amazing social networks, to counter all of the adaptive challenges of Job One for Humanity. It will be the transformational evolutionary adventure of a lifetime, and more exciting and real than any video game.

Finally, always focus first on the 60 percent of the 1 percent of the wealthiest individuals, and corporations, around the world as, through their powerful lobbyists and special interest groups, they have the most financial and other power to make the biggest changes the fastest. Do not be embarrassed to write personal letters or emails of appeal to them. You do not need anyone's permission to do good in the world, especially on an issue of such immediate and life-critical importance to everyone.

The Big Key Take-Away from Part 2, Step 3 of the Job One Plan

We do not need all the tipping point research to know that coal fired energy generation is the single biggest carbon polluter of the atmosphere. By regulating it now with new, enforceable, international laws, we can make a huge and important dent in the massive job in front of us. Without doing this soon, we may never get another chance to avert the worst levels of climate destabilization.

Introduction to Part 3 of the Job One Plan:

Part 3 of the Job One Plan contains the three most effective meta-actions to get human-caused atmospheric carbon pollution back down to carbon levels of 350 parts per million.

Move to Local, National, and Global Green Energy Generation at Lightning Speed:

"If everyone on the planet today agreed that we needed to switch to green and significantly greener energy generation, and every nation on Earth also agreed and signed onto new strictly enforceable international laws limiting fossil fuel carbon pollution and established new laws for a carbon  Fee and Dividend program in their countries, it would still take 35-50 years to replace all of the old fossil fuel use and infrastructure. This is because it will take at least 35-50 years to build out sufficient global capacity, storage and distribution means using a new green and greener energy infrastructure.

This means there is an additional 35-50 years of dangerous carbon pollution levels going into the atmosphere pushing us ever closer or over the key or "no return" climate tipping points. Worse yet, we are not even close to the kind of public agreement or political will and consensus or new international laws needed to enact the necessary "first things first" critical path changes.

What this bitter reality leaves us with is the strategy of wisely preparing for the worst case scenario and then when those preparations are done, passionately and wholeheartedly working to create the best scenario. We can no longer run our civilization mostly on fossil fuels. These "old energy" sources of fossil fuels are the dominant human-caused reasons for carbon pollution, and global climate destabilization.

New green, and greener, energy sources must be found and implemented in the global energy system at once, if we and our children are to survive with a decent quality of life. We cannot hope to realistically, and successfully, move away from fossil fuels if we do not have new energy resources to replace them. Individuals, business, and nations will not stop using fossil fuels unless there is something equally as good, and cost efficient, to replace them so that they can continue existing, growing and functioning as before. 

The use of new energy sources will play the core and critical final role in the climate re-stabilization solution. Even if the coming global crisis of peak oil did not exist, it is the highest national, and international security priority to find and implement new green and greener energy sources to replace the use of carbon polluting fossil fuels. If we do not actively and consciously do this, our societies and civilization will collapse under the weight of the myriad of devastating environmental, agricultural, economic and political consequences as climate destabilization worsens.

Going to green energy generation as fast as possible also has a resilience building effect that is important to surviving the increasing effects of escalating climate destabilization. Solar and wind energy generation are often decentralized, which enables them to be put on homes and businesses. When climate catastrophes occur, power will be restored much faster because of this decentralization.

This step is a good example of how we can implement one part of the new principles of Sustainable Prosperity, to help resolve catastrophic climate destabilization. This Third Industrial Revolution is based in part upon alternative energy sources that will help us to change our perspective about energy. We are, after all, in a universe composed of abundant energy from many sources.

Other new sources of non-climate destabilizing energy means that it is possible to save humanity from irreversible, or near extinction, levels of climate destabilization. As practical sustainability advocates, we must keep our minds open to new energy sources. As a temporary measure, we may have to use stepping-stone and transitional energy sources until such time as we can go completely green.

This means considering "light green", or greener temporary stepping-stone solutions, such as the more secure and much smaller 4th generation breeder nuclear reactors, which as of yet have still not been perfected. These more secure and much smaller 4th generation breeder nuclear reactors are designed to use the existing worldwide stockpiles of spent, and currently stockpiled and stored, dangerous nuclear waste as their primary fuel source. They are also designed to produce a nuclear waste by-product that decays in 300 years rather than the 10,000 years of the current nuclear reactors. If these 4th generation breeder reactors are created and deployed fast enough, and if the climate destabilization continues to worsen as at the rapid rate it is doing now, we may have no other choice but to use this new form of 4th generation nuclear reactor until we can go almost totally green energy. Please note this discussion of the new 4th generation nuclear breeder reactor possibility in no way endorses expanded use of the current generation of nuclear reactors that have produced disasters such as Chernobyl and Fukushima, and are producing millions of tons of nuclear waste that must be stored safely for 10,000 years. From the perspective of history,  no stable government, empire or nation has lasted for more than 600 years.

One of the natural positive side effects of going to green, and greener, energy will be a natural decentralization of energy generation and energy control. This will also increase our energy shutdown and energy disaster recovery resilience.

When we are moving toward clean green energy replacing carbon-polluting fossil fuel we cannot forget including the fossil fuel industry and their self-interests in profits. We can't forget to provide them lots of generous transition benefits for moving their energy business models from fossil fuels to green energy. They are after all, already the largest forces in the energy business. Why should they miss out on the profits to be made on the inevitable and greatest energy transition in human history? It will be far easier to incentivize them than to fight them into joining in this life critical energy transition.

Never forget the key reasons to go green and greener fast:

1.) National and international security;

2.) Decentralize power generation to build local disaster recovery resilience into local energy systems;

3.) Dramatically reduce carbon pollution of the atmosphere, which will save future generations from unimaginable suffering, and the human race from potential extinction; and

4.) To create more jobs and a healthier population.

It is the patriotic duty of every citizen to forward the green energy and the greener Third Industrial Revolution!

The Big Key Take-Away from Part 3, Step 1 of the Job One Plan:

Move to green energy generation now. Subsidize it if that is what it takes. There is no future without green energy generation taking care of most of the planet's energy needs.

Special Note: Enacting local and national green energy programs could economically disadvantage the competitiveness of local and national businesses in the global marketplace. That is why it is so critical to quickly pass verifiable and enforceable new global laws so that no nation has an unfair competitive advantage in continuing to pollute our atmosphere.

Use the newest tipping point research as both motivation and support for the funding and development of new industrial-scale "Earth re-forming," carbon pollution reduction and mitigation technologies, or other new technologies to remove or reduce carbon and other greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

The odds are stacked heavily against humanity solving the problem of catastrophic climate destabilization before it becomes near irreversible, or even an extinction level event. This means that we must also explore all of the possible new, and even science fiction-like, "Earth re-forming" technologies and new energy strategies and sources to try to bring us back from the brink.

There could be a point where any new or existing technology idea, no matter how far fetched, will have to be considered to help the atmosphere recover and reduce the greenhouse effect. Amongst many possibilities, we will need to develop coal carbon pollution scrubbers, if that is possible, and other new carbon pollution emission control devices and strategies.

Keep your minds open. To preserve the human race until such time as better green energy solutions are implemented, we may have to use practical stopgap and stepping-stone technology measures. Such measures may include using 4th generation nuclear breeder reactors, or other less carbon polluting energy sources, such as natural gas for core energy generation. Natural gas produces half of the carbon of coal when burned; and, the 4th generation nuclear breeder reactors, when perfected, will burn the existing spent nuclear waste that is now being stored and will turn it into a byproduct with a radioactive life of 300 years instead of 10,000 years.

These new technologies may represent humanity's last opportunity for recovery long after we have crossed the climate tipping points, and have failed to rise to the challenge when it was far easier to resolve.  Even using massive new technology interventions, it may be too late for recovery at that point because of the complexity of the climate system, crossed tipping point thresholds, and inherent non-linear interdependencies!

Also keep in mind that these new technologies will most likely work best if they appropriately align and harmonize with the planet's natural systems rather than try to overwhelm, dominate and control them. Failure to think this way in the past is a significant part of why we are in this crisis now.

We urgently need a better technology to clear land, or prepare it for the next harvest, other than burning it. It is estimated that each hectare of land that is burned produces the same carbon pollution as 6,000 cars. Now multiply that by the the billion plus hectares of forest and cropland burned each year and you begin to see the destructive impact on atmospheric carbon that could be mitigated with new technology solutions. If you did nothing else on this Job One key actions list, and only focused on the steps in parts one and two of the plan, you would be doing the most effective and important things currently known that you could be doing to save your own future, future generations, and humanity from catastrophic climate destabilization. Focus the majority of your efforts on these first steps. No matter what else we do , there is little prospect of success without these points being done soon!

Introduction to Part 4 of the Job One Plan

Each of the section steps in this Part 4 of the Job One Plan are actions needed for long-term resolution or a long-term maintenance perspective for sustaining climate restabilization once it is been re-established. In general do these steps after you have been successful with the earlier Job One Parts 1-3.  The actions recommended in Part 4 of Job One are generally slower steps that gradually build toward a long-term solution, or maintaining that solution once it has been achieved.

Part 4 of Job One relies heavily upon new verifiable, and enforceable, international laws having been enacted that cause every polluter to pay the full cost of their pollution and pollution cleanup.

In this way, polluters can no longer externalize the costs of their pollution by passing them on to other nations or on to the human commonwealth and human commons. These new global carbon and methane pollution laws ensure that this no longer happens and that all pollution costs are always internalized to that organization and are no longer a burden on the common spaces and wellbeing! All previous pollution economic advantages to any entity, anywhere in the world, are now being equally and uniformly punished with fines and other verification. Other enforcement actions are also needed to ensure compliance.

Step a) Expand or rebuild the natural carbon absorption mechanisms to help maintain and sustain climate restabilization.

There are many natural mechanisms like the respiration of trees, the biological processes of plankton, and the qualities of healthy grassland, and other healthy soil conditions that cause the trees, plankton, and soils etc. to absorb massive amounts of carbon from the atmosphere. The expansion or rebuilding of these natural carbon absorption mechanisms will take expertise, large investments, and considerable time before they start making a substantial  impact. If we are able to avert extinction level climate destabilization in the future, part of the optimal long-term solution will be to use natural processes to both restore and maintain the equilibrium.  

Step b) Begin the solution to the deeper core issues behind the convergence of ALL other meta problems linked to a successful long-term solution to climate destabilization  

We have many major global challenges before us. Some of those key global challenges also directly contribute to keeping the climate destabilized. To stop burning fossil fuels in time to prevent irreversible, or near-extinction level, climate destabilization and then to re-stabilize the climate and maintain it, we must face and resolve the deepest structural roots of the fossil fuel burning problem of polluting our own atmosphere.

The deepest structural roots of the fossil fuel burning problem, in part, are:

a) Rising population and overpopulation (we have far too many people for the Earth's carrying capacity. As our population escalates so do our energy needs);

b) A global economic system and its "infinite growth," "export corporate pollution costs onto the public", and other outdated economic rules that do not currently work to justly support and sustain our human population and humanity's life-supporting ecosystems;

c) A lack of an empowered global government that can, by the use of  verifiable and enforceable international laws, effectively manage and regulate cross border meta-challenges such as global warming, which cause climate destabilization. This lack of true global government is a core structural threat to the health, stability, and future of all of Earth's inhabitants and its future generations.

To successfully make the above evolutionary adaptations, we need to engage in a massive restructuring and realignment of our economic, social and political systems. (Maybe also our religious systems as well to deal with overpopulation.) This is because in their current state of evolutionary development, the very conditions and rules of these economic, social and political systems are also the fundamental underlying structural causes that have created climate destabilization and that are allowing it to expand unresolved.

We can begin making this deep structural change, in part, by implementing the key solutions and reforms for building a more organic, bottom-up, democratic, self-organizing, and nature-aligned governance around the world as suggested by Ellen Laconte in her book “Life Rules.” A bottom-up, organic and self-organizing democracy that harmonizes with the Universe's Evolutionary Principles for a closed system of planetary evolution is very different from the top down, wealth-dominated democratic governments driven on disastrous "constant  growth economics" theories of infinite growth, and the ideas of infinite substitutability that we have in market economics today.

While this organization agrees with most of the ideas in Ellen Laconte’s book “Life Rules”, we differ with the author on the importance of what we believe is the local/global balancing, critical and simultaneous role of international law and global governance to limit individual, local and regional excess and expansion while simultaneously educating about, aligning and enforcing essential policies for the planetary common good.

Step c) Take the long-term evolutionary perspective on climate re-stabilization. Become a "big picture" partner in maintaining climate stabilization, once it has been restored, by committing to sustainable planetary evolution by using the Universe's Core Evolutionary Principles, and becoming an active Job One Evolutioneer.

Knowing that the Universe's Evolutionary Principles that are the foundation of sustainable prosperity, and where they came from is critical to both the short and long-term resolution of climate destabilization caused by global warming!

These principles positively affect, and condition, how successfully we perform every step in the Job One Plan. These principles also enhance the effectiveness of every action that we take to achieve long-term Job One for Humanity success, and long-term climate stability maintenance.

As part of the exciting new Universe Evolutionary Worldview that can work for all of humanity, and not just the few, they can also be used to help solve every other major challenge that humanity now faces. The Core 2 Keys to the Climate Destabilization Resolution

The honest core solution to resolving our destabilizing climate crisis consists of just two things:

a) Get the research done on all of the key climate tipping points, and get that new climate tipping point information to our politicians and power brokers.

b) Get verifiable and enforceable international laws enacted that will immediately protect the climate from carbon and methane air pollution, and begin the radical global transition from fossil fuel energy generation to green, and clean energy generation.

Yes, the citizens of the world can loudly demand clean air to breathe and a future for themselves, their children and future generations. However, the climate destabilization crisis will not be resolved until all world governments uniformly enforce the much needed new international climate laws..

Unfortunately, individual efforts from the bottom up will not do it.

We are Gambling With Our Future and we Cannot Pay Off the Debt if we Lose

Under any condition, circumstance or excuse, not resolving global warming in time to avert the increasing probability of irreversible climate destabilization (and its dangerous average global temperature increase), is a "bet" that no individual, corporation, nation or humanity can EVER afford to place! This is because gambling with the known and unknown tipping points of irreversible climate destabilization, and losing this gambling bet, comes with such a "gambling debt" of suffering, death and financial loss, that is so large and devastating, for such a length of time, for so much of humanity that no individual, corporation or nation (or even all nations together) will EVER be able to pay off, or recover from, even a fraction of it during their life cycles.

This global climate truth means we have to stop gambling with the future of humanity now, and remove the escalating climate destabilization bet that we have currently and unknowingly put on the table. Not making radical and immediate change to remove our bad climate bet is like a government leaving nuclear reactors unattended and nuclear weapons unguarded.

No government official in their right mind would do this, but that is exactly what we are doing with our escalating climate destabilization "nuclear time bomb" when we continue to gamble foolishly, betting that we will be safe from the known and unknown tipping points of irreversible climate destabilization.

We must now begin preparing and adapting to the worsening climate destabilization. We must also do our utmost to lessen global warming just enough to prevent it from ever becoming an irreversible climate destabilization that could last for hundreds or thousands of years. If irreversible climate destabilization does occur, it would create unimaginable suffering beyond any scale, scope or severity that we have previously seen in human history, and it will continue for generations to come.

The solution for preventing extinction level climate destabilization depends upon radical, and immediate, global changes in how we produce energy and how we behave and cooperate collectively as humanity. The changes required are far larger, and are needed much faster than has ever been achieved. They will require more of Earth's inhabitants to work together at the same time in a focused, and prioritized, way than has ever happened in all of human history.

The Job One for Humanity climate restabilization plan has discusses in detail the many barriers that must be overcome, as well as the personal and collective action steps we need to take. While we hope, and work every day, that we are able as a united humanity to make the needed changes soon enough, we need to be honest because the survival of humanity, and most of the planet's living species, depends on it.

Our success is by no means certain. If anything, it is radically uncertain...

How Fixed Ideas Can Cripple Real Success in Our Climate Re-stabilization Efforts

The Job One for Humanity Climate Re-Stabilization Plan laid out in prioritized, sequenced and systematic steps exactly what is needed to be done, not only to re-stabilized the climate, but also to keep it stable in the future. Unfortunately, because we are coming into the process late, and critical climate tipping points are close at hand or have already been crossed unknowingly, it is going to take radical, uncomfortable, and costly actions by more of humanity than has ever been mobilized for any project in history.

Successful climate re-stabilization  will require us to drop several popular fixed ideas about real climate re-stabilization that are constantly repeated by government organizations, think tanks, and even some environmental and climate organizations.

The first of these fixed ideas that has to go is that:

"all climate re-stabilization actions must not harm the local economy."

We are now so far behind the necessary safety curve on re-stabilizing the climate that there is going to have to be real suffering and sacrifice if we are to prevent irreversible, or extinction level, climate destabilization. Part of that real suffering and sacrifice is that local, and national economies, will suffer as we are forced to implement last-ditch, desperate, and very costly efforts to re-stabilize the climate.

The second of these fixed ideas that has to go is that:

"climate re-stabilization must somehow pay for itself and not create deficits."

This is another nonsensical fixed idea that, along with the first fixed idea above, will prevent the implementation of an effective climate re-stabilization program.

When the United States believed that the Nazis were developing an atom bomb in WW II, the US government did not call a budget committee together and say " Gee, Defense Department you can't develop a new US atomic bomb in the Manhattan project. It's far too expensive and it would cause us to expand our national deficits." There wasn't even a consideration of cost when our national security was directly threatened by the Nazis atomic bomb research.

There is a third, more subtle, fixed idea. It is the popular democratic idea and ideal that the "will of the people" will eventually force the politicians to act. This implies that all we need to do is create a massive public education and the new public will, rising from the bottom, will force the politicians to execute the necessary steps of climate destabilization.

This fixed idea will not work because:

a) We do not have enough time, before we cross critical climate tipping points, to educate the majority of people on earth about the complex science behind climate destabilization. By the time we use this tactic to build up the necessary public will in every nation on earth for the essential actions to be taken, we will have long since gone over the climate cliff.

b) In today's political realities, massive "public will" in most countries even democratic countries, does not have the power that we would like to believe that it does. Lobbyists, special interest groups, multinational corporations and other self-interests of the politicians themselves will almost always trump the will of the people and large groups of people demonstrating in the streets.

This leaves us with the only real option of successfully educating politicians and the power elite so that they want to enact verifiable and enforceable international climate re-stabilization laws. And for them to use these laws to enforce, and incentivize, the massive change in humanity's behavior and energy systems that are needed to re-stabilize the climate in time. The politicians and power elite will eventually do it because their self-interests, and the interests of their children, demand it.

In 2015 climate destabilization is not only the most serious threat to national security, it is also the most serious threat to international security and the security of every individual living on earth today. If we do not drop the previous, no longer applicable or irrational fixed ideas that any climate re-stabilization work cannot:

a) Negatively financially impact local or national economies; or that

b) Somehow we can re-stabilized the climate without deep and painful sacrifice; or that

c) Climate re-stabilization cannot create large national, international and local deficit spending; or that

d) The way we get this done is through mass education and "public will", rather than directly educating politicians and then them enforcing the necessary climate laws back down on the general population at every local, national, and international level, then we will most definitely go over the climate destabilization cliff, first into irreversible climate destabilization, and eventually near-extinction or extinction level climate destabilization.

In Summary:

Cataclysmic climate destabilization is already here because of:

a) The heat building momentum of atmospheric carbon and methane pollution already in the system, and being added to the system everyday;

b) The natural 30 to 50 year cycle of inertia within the climate system for dissipating the heat already captured by the climate system; and

c.) The 25 to 45 year cycle of evolutionary inertia within our economic and political systems countering the needed Job One changes to radically change fossil fuel infrastructure to green and clean energy generation.

Credible calculations by Price Cooper Waterhouse, the international accounting firm, in 2012 indicate that irreversible climate destabilization (along with it's 4 degree Celsius [8 plus degrees Fahrenheit] average temperature increase), is a near inevitability!

More recent science predicts that soon after we cross the first potentially irreversible climate destabilization tipping point (the 4 degree increase point), large amounts of glacier ice, summer Arctic ice, and large parts of the Antarctic ice shelf will permanently melt. This irreversible level of massive global ice melt, along with one or more of the other key climate tipping points being crossed, quickly takes us to the carbon 550 ppm vestibule of irreversible, or near extinction level, climate destabilization and an 8 to 12 degrees Fahrenheit or more increase in global average temperature.

In the climate re-stabilization "war," we feel it is important not to create futile and false hopes and fight battles and waste resources on battles that are already lost (such as in the cataclysmic levels of climate destabilization). They are already here and expanding.

We believe a practical, survival oriented, honesty for the human species dictates that we focus exclusively on the last and final battle of this "climate war." That is, preparing for, adapting to and lessening the consequences of extinction level of climate destabilization as much as it is still possible anywhere we can. In this way as many of the planet's plant and animal species, and some human beings, will still survive to carry on.

In both surviving and adapting to what is coming, it is our perspective that humanity will learn from this evolutionary crisis. Humanity will become more evolutionarily mature.

We also believe that whatever remains of humanity after the eventual collapse of many of its current economic, political, and social climate-dependent or climate-affected systems will eventually restructure, realign and renew those systems. We will do this so that the coming climate and sustainability catastrophes and system collapses will not happen again and that humanity's long-term future will eventually become brighter than ever.

The challenge of resolving catastrophic climate destabilization is behind us! ​The challenge of resolving irreversible, or extinction level, climate destabilization and collapse has begun.

Last Words on Keeping the Adaptive Challenge of Preventing Extinction level Climate Destabilization in Proper Perspective

In any complex adaptive system where there is uncertainty, spontaneity, and self-organizing qualities, there will always be wildcards and hope, precisely because of those various factors. Uncertainty, spontaneity, and self-organizing system qualities introduce unpredictable positive and negative wildcards into trying to determine what any system will do.

This means that while there are many unpredictable negative climate, and human systems, tipping points there can also be powerful positive tipping points that will create positive wildcards that no one can currently envision, which could do much to help us mitigate climate destabilization. The Job One for Humanity team, as well as our organization, are hopeful that, collectively, all of us can mitigate escalating climate destabilization before it reaches the extinction level for most humans and species on the planet.

We know that there will also be numerous positive climate system, and human systems, wildcards that will continue to give us more hope. We just do not know what they will be, or if they will occur soon enough and or strongly enough to mitigate the worst of the global consequences of the ongoing climate destabilization.  

It is easy to become overwhelmed, disheartened and almost hopeless when one looks at the daunting challenge of human-caused climate destabilization due to global warming, unless one sees this challenge from a "big picture” evolutionary perspective. One needs to see possible extinction level climate destabilization from the perspective of 13.7 billion years of successful universe evolution, 5.2 billion years of successful planetary evolution and 10,000 years of the successful evolution of human civilization.

When one looks at the climate destabilization challenge from this much larger universe scaled space and time perspective, some interesting facts emerge for how to see the current irreversible, or extinction level, climate destabilization challenge in relation to our past. First, there has been five previous extinction level events in planetary history. In these events, some of which took many more years to occur than we are looking at with climate change to occur, anywhere from half to as much as 90% of all the species that existed on Earth at that time became extinct, but life and evolution still carried on moving into new dominant forms. The species recovery after each of the 5 previous extinction tool an average of 10 million years.

Extinction, collapse, and renewal are built into the evolutionary system as a natural and healthy part of it when needed. It may be even necessary for human civilization to collapse under the weight of climate destabilization for a new and better civilization to emerge within the remaining survivors.

If our planetary civilization has become so fossilized, self-protecting of the status quo, has lost its ability to listen to powerful feedback and cannot adapt to this collective threat, and if it continues to make minimum and challenge-insignificant changes, there is little doubt that catastrophe and widespread ecological, social, economic and political collapse is coming.  And it will be sooner than we think.

In spite of 99.999% of all species that have ever existed on the planet having become extinct, we do have a few good reasons to hope we can rise to this challenge. First, what is unique today and that did not exist in any of the previous five extinction events, is that a species has evolved that can intelligently and rationally reflect upon its behavior, as well as the evolutionary processes of the planet and universe in which it lives and in which it is embedded.

This species gathers knowledge effectively, and it is highly adaptable in modifying its behavior once it perceives a real and imminent threat. Over its history, this species has organized cooperation on larger and larger scales. It has evolved from small hunter gatherer groups, to agrarian villages, to warrior city states, to great 20th Century nations and now to 21st Century international cooperative alliances of multiple nations such as the European Union.

When one looks at the evolution of the universe as a whole system from its very beginning to the present, one sees recurring patterns that are themselves greatly reassuring to the idea that we should be able to overcome this challenge. Two of those reassuring evolutionary patterns are that “evolution always seems to work out for the good of the whole” and “that in spite of how it looks right now, the progress of evolution as we know it, is the best it's ever been!

If we are lucky, the planet’s, and the universe’s, evolutionary processes themselves will help to preserve at least enough of the human species and the other species on the planet so that the evolutionary process can continue, and we can learn from the challenge that we now have to overcome. Because evolution has also progressed to “the best it's ever been” and produced an amazingly adaptable, and intelligent species, such as humanity, we have the best chance of any species in all of evolutionary history to rise above this escalating climate destabilization challenge and cooperate in new ways. As an additional benefit that should not be forgotten, this climate cliff avoidance and cooperative process itself will undoubtedly create a new greater international union of the nations of the planet.

We are facing the greatest adaptive challenge and transformational, evolutionary adventure of the 21st Century, and if we are completely honest, we are facing the greatest adaptive challenge and transformational, evolutionary adventure in all of human history. No other previous escalating adaptive challenge or transformational, evolutionary adventure in human history has had the capability of so thoroughly destroying more of human civilization, all of humanity, and most of the other species on our planet.

If we are realistic, if we do the first things that really need to be done first (and that will actually prevent us from going over the tipping points to irreversible or extinction level climate destabilization), and if we work and cooperate well together as a unified force, humanity is capable of resolving this climate cliff challenge thus ensuring the existence, stability and quality of life for both itself right now, and for future generations.

The only questions that remains are: “will you and I act collectively together and get an honest, comprehensive and effective climate re-stabilization plan like Job One for Humanity done in time?” and;

“Will we as individuals, communities, and nations accept the adaptive challenge and this great transformational, evolutionary adventure before us?”

Global warming and its consequent early levels of climate destabilization may have started out as an environmental issue 35 years ago, but global warming due to human-caused fossil fuel carbon pollution of the atmosphere has now gone far beyond that. It is now the single most destructive, imminent, and real threat to our collective global financial prosperity, safety, and security that currently exists.

"The more one learns about the facts and current condition of climate destabilization the more one realizes that the best that we can do at this juncture is do our very best personally and collectively to help lessen its effects and impact as well as to be well prepared to "ride out" the worst of what is unavoidably coming. After we successfully lessen and ride out what is unavoidably coming we can then expand the climate re-stabilization processes. If you understand these simple ideas, you understand the good part of the core message of the Job One for Humanity Plan."

This is what will happen if we do not act now to reverse escalating climate destabilization.

Religious groups and spiritual leaders must exert their moral and spiritual influence to prioritize an issue that will, if left untended, adversely change human life as we know it in unimaginably ways!

Any group, religious or spiritual, that understands what is at stake for all of humanity, but fails to promote the goals within the Job One for Humanity Plan would certainly be committing one of the gravest offenses against the Ultimate Reality that originates, interconnects, and sustains all things!

To do this, we must disseminate evolution's time-proven principles for successful sustainability across the planet. Ultimately, this will be the most effective tool that we have for solving the crisis of escalating climate destabilization, the greatest adaptive challenge, and transformational, evolutionary adventure in human history.

Because of the threat that escalating climate destabilization poses to all life on this planet in the very near future, every religious and spiritual organization in the world now bears a special moral and spiritual obligation to act as resolute stewards for the environment. We must all, at least for the time being, make saving our planet's environment from escalating climate destabilization our new First Commandment, our first eco-spirituality principle and our first moral imperative. This should be be taught to every member of every religion!

When the world's spiritual and religious peoples clearly see that re-stabilizing the climate is fully compatible with their understanding of Ultimate Reality (God, Buddha, Allah, etc.), and Ultimate Reality's "intentions" to sustain life on the planet, we will have most of the world's population supporting the mission goals of Job One for Humanity.

When most individuals of faith, and most of the great religious groups, in this world demand that we do what is necessary to stop escalating climate destabilization, and become stewards of sustainable practices in our environments, an unimaginably great influence will be in place to help ensure that our lives continue on in the future, and the necessary changes will eventually be made!

We are working on a recognition, an award program, that would put a relative importance and effectiveness point value on each Job One sustainability restoring action that you or your group takes. Using this new rating system, your meritorious sustainable actions would be honored by assigning a Job One Evolutioneer level to your total for all of your climate re-stabilizing achievements. Individuals who make the commitment and help forward the goals and practices the Job One For Humanity plan are called Job One Evolutioneers.

Because climate destabilization is such a difficult adaptive challenge that has to be overcome by so many people, and so many institutions, in such a short period of time, it is critically important for each of us to support each other and honor all of the meritorious climate re-stabilizing achievements going on, especially those directly on the "first things first" critical path to climate stabilization. To help with the support and honoring we also hope to soon create an online registry where you can see what other Job One Evolutioneers have accomplished and what levels they have attained.

Here are some additional technical notes:

1) The systematic, comprehensive, and complete Job One Climate Re-Stabilization Plan has been carefully mapped out using the most current climate science, the principles of systems theory (as they apply to our destabilizing climate), and the principles of the dialectical meta-systemic thinking developed at Harvard by Professor Otto Laske. Use of Professor Laske's research does not imply he endorses the Job One Plan.

2) Science is constantly evolving. Our organization will always quickly amend or update our climate destabilization and Job One Plan information any time more current and reliable new climate research becomes available. As in all evolving science, we openly acknowledge that based only upon the paucity of today's current state of climate tipping point research, both our organization and all of the other climate destabilization experts could be partially, or even completely, wrong in any of the conclusions concerning future levels of climate destabilization, its likely timetables, or its future consequences. Because of this wise and continual openness to scientific falsification, we also invite you to always make up your own mind as to the usefulness and validity of our current Job One Plan conclusions and action steps regarding the future of climate re-stabilization, and what must be done NOW to create it. If you think we have made any error in presenting any climate data or climate predictions when viewed from a systems thinking and a meta-systemic thinking viewpoint, we invite you to use the comment field at the bottom of the page containing the information with which you disagree. Please present your precise criticism and contrary information. The current climate data is so bleak that there is nothing that our organization would like better than to be proven absolutely wrong on our climate analysis, research and climate predictions. All of our future lives would be so much happier, easier, and better if the core Job One for Humanity Plan climate information was simply wrong on its most important conclusions and projections.

3) Even if climate destabilization was not as bad as it appears, the beginning and later stage actions recommended in Job One for Humanity climate re-stabilization plan would still help us directly, and indirectly, solve many other of the planet's greatest global challenges to our future, such as resource scarcity, economic injustice, poverty, environmental degradation etc. Additionally, the Job One for Humanity Plan directly deals with the planet's 5,000 year resources quandary. The 5,000 year quandary is this: the nearest habitable planet we could get to if we run out of resources on Earth is 5,000 years away provided that we could get our current rocket ships to fly 100 times faster. This means for the next 5,000 years, every resource  that we will need for the future population of Earth is currently on the planet, and we need to manage it wisely. Hauling massive amounts of heavy resources back from other uninhabitable planets and getting them through our atmosphere in sufficient quantities to supply and estimate 10 to 14 billion or more humans is not economically feasible even if it was technically possible. 4) When reviewing the climate re-stabilization parts, and steps for choosing what step to begin with or to focus upon, there is the reality test of what is your "zone of influence." In other words, your "zone of concern" may be spread over every part and step, but your realistic "zone of influence" may be much more concentrated. It is wise to begin, with or focus upon, the parts and steps of the plan over which you have the greatest influence and control. Not only will you get the most done successfully, it most likely will be the most satisfying.

6) Please do not think that our organization is some kind of survivalist, or apocalyptic, organization or community. We are neither of those things. Our Job One for Humanity meta-message on this issue is:

"Our global systems are facing severe challenges right now, particularly in the area of escalating climate destabilization. The climate destabilization is going to get worse, much worse! There will be increasing levels of suffering, pain, and loss until we fully manage this climate challenge. Working together we can make it as good as it will get, (it being re-stabilizing the climate.) In spite of the currently deteriorating climate conditions, we can still enjoy each day. The survivors will re-stabilize the climate; and they will also build something new, that is better adapted, restructured, and re-aligned than anything we have now to resolve all of our other future collective challenges beyond the climate cliff. The individuals in these new, sustainable communities, will help educate and lead in the establishment of the "sustainable prosperity" vision in the macro-culture using peaceful and evolutionary means." Make no mistake about our bigger perspective. Based on science, our organization has the primary purpose of co-creating a sustainable, prosperous, safe, and secure future for ALL. It is only from necessity that we will temporarily focus on mitigating the greatest human created collective threat to civilization, and life in recorded human history. That is, extinction level climate destabilization caused by fossil fuel burning, and runaway global warming. Our community's temporary climate re-stabilization focus is only on the positive actions needed to help re-stabilize the climate, not on fighting anyone or anything, or believing that anything but a "greater good for all" will eventually emerge from dealing with our current climate re-stabilization challenge. 8) In 2014 the carbon particles per million in the atmosphere (ppm) remained at the same or near the same level as in 2013. This is the first time this has happened in quite a while. We believe this to be some type of anomaly and that what is most important is to look at the long-term trend , which is moving up exponentially. It is also important to realize that if one or more of the climate tipping points are crossed, the carbon ppm per yearly rate could surge significantly higher than it's previous long-term exponential rise. When you look at the graphs for the last 40 or 100 years or, back to the Second Industrial Revolution of the 1880's and then back for hundreds of thousands of years you can clearly see a powerful exponential rising trend of particles per million of carbon in the atmosphere since the 1880's.
